What is the use of arguing on the base of the birth entity, which is not the Self? +

People from all over the world come to India to learn Advaita Vedanta from some Guru after studying they become teachers of Advaita and start preaching  Advaita.  Many write books on Advaita. But such books are based on borrowed knowledge from here and there.   Such knowledge is not Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. 

All accumulated knowledge is of no use in the path of wisdom. Without realizing “What is the truth,  it is impossible to realize “What is untruth?” Without realizing what is the truth and what is the untruth,  it is impossible to assimilate the Self –Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Thus,  one must know with full and firm conviction what truth is

People think of the ‘I’ without the body as the Self.  Deeper self-search reveals the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the formless witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self.  The witness is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is real and eternal.

WHO AM ‘I’? AND ‘I AM THAT’ is only for a lower stage where one gives up externally in order to expose the false nature of the ego, which is not the full truth. To get the ultimate truth one has to inquire into the nature of the mind, which is in the form of the universe.  Inquiring into nature the mind or the universe is higher.  Thus, ‘WHO AM ‘I’? or ‘I AM THAT’ teachings are not complete wisdom,  and the journey is incomplete.

The ‘WHO AM ‘I’?’ inquiry is good at the starting point of the pursuit of truth but later stages it created lots of confusion.  When the self is genderless then it is not He/She. Therefore, using the word ‘I AM’ for the self is erroneous.  Deeper self-search reveals the fact that the self is not the ‘I’, therefore ‘WHO AM I?- will not help to unfold the truth beyond the form, time and space. 

Thus, it is going in the right direction in its invention and one day it will declare that everything is consciousness, which Sage Sri Sankara declared 1200 years back:  ~Everything is the Atman because the Atman is in the form of consciousness. 

Remember:~

Buddha,  Sage Goudpada, and  Sage Sankara are not only reformers but also the greatest Sage-scientists. Since their original thesis has been mixed up and lost in the labyrinths of philosophy and mutilated by orthodoxy, it becomes very difficult to understand and assimilate the wisdom expounded by the great masters. In addition, the conservativeness of the scholars will not allow any research other than playing with the words, which suits the mass mindset because of their egocentric outlook.

The one who holds the 'Self' as the  ‘I’ never will be able to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Thus, it is necessary to realize first the ‘I’ is not the Self, but the 'Self' is the Soul, the witness of the ‘I’. 

The ‘I-centric'  teaching and teachers are not a yardstick in the path of wisdom. ‘I-centric 'teaching will not lead the seeker to the ultimate end of his inner journey.

 Not by listening to Guru's sermons, nor by the study of books, not by meritorious deeds, nor by any other means can one attain  Advaitic awareness, which is attainable only through association with the Gnanis and the clear quest of the Self.  

Advaitic wisdom is given neither from outside nor from another person.

Many seekers in this path of inquiry are still struggling even after long years and waiting for something to happen. Even after reading and inquiring deeply enough, still, they are unable to progress further.  Even they are unable to get any benefit in their spiritual pursuit through self - inquiry they are unable to give up the self-inquiry due to the attraction to some sage of the past. 

Self-inquiry is a good tool at the beginning of the pursuit of truth. But the seeker will find it inadequate in later stages. However, it creates lots of doubts and confusion.  The seeker has to find the answers on his own through deeper reasoning, than all his doubts and confusions will be cleared, and he will be able to move ahead in the path of inquiry, and he will be able to reach his non-dual destination.

WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT’- teachings are only for a lower stage where one gives up externally in order to expose the false nature of the ego, which is not the full truth. To get the ultimate truth one has to inquire into the nature of the mind, which is in the form of the universe.  Inquiring into the nature of the mind or the universe is higher.  Thus ‘WHO AM ‘I’? and ‘I AM THAT’ teachings will not reveal the truth of the whole,  thus the journey is incomplete.

‘WHO AM ‘I’ and ‘I AM THAT’ - serve only at the starting point. What one has to learn from the teaching of the Sages be understood through the exercise of reason as far as the reason might go?  And what one has assimilated must be realized. There are stages in the seeker's goal. 

Remember:~ 

Fortunate is the one who does not lose themselves in the teachings which do not help him to acquire Self-knowledge. Fortunate is the seeker who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of various teachings of the Gurus but investigates straight to the source from which the universe arises. 

First,  one has to mentally detach the three states from the formless witness, as unaffected by the coming and going of the three states. And then – the formless witness and the three states are one in essence. That essence is consciousness.  Thus, everything is consciousness and nothing exists other than the consciousness.

People stop their pursuit of truth at the ‘WHO AM ‘I’? or ‘I AM THAT’ teachings which are incomplete and keep them in the grip of individuality and individuality leading them to intellectuality.

Deeper self-search investigates through a mental microscope (inquiry and soulcentric reasoning)  

Remember:~

Without realizing ‘what is the mind? it is impossible to grasp and realize the Nondualistic or Advaitic truth. Firstly, one has to realize the mind is not within the body, but the body, ego, and the world are within the mind (I). Without understanding this fact it is no use in discussing because you are discussing the base of ego (waking entity) and my answers are based on the Soul, the  Self.

It takes a lot of time to train the ego to become soulcentric. Once the seasoning base is rectified from the form (ego) to formless, then the truth will start revealing on its own and you will be able to understand what I am saying.  

Now in waking experience (at present) the ego reasons ‘what is right’ and ‘what is wrong’, which is very helpful in the practical life impractical world. In soulcentric reasoning, it will start discriminating between real and unreal and truth and untruth.

Most of the modern Gurus are also stuck with ‘I’ awareness as self-awareness. The ‘I’ awareness is present only when the mind is present.  The mind is present only when the universe is present.  

The universe is present only when the waking or dream is present.   The ‘I’ awareness is absent when the mind is absent.   The mind is absent then the universe or waking or dream is absent. Thus ‘I’ awareness is merely an illusion.   Self-awareness is ‘I- LESS AWARENESS.

It is impossible to get rid of any conditioning without getting rid of the inborn samskara or conditioning.   ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ is the inborn samskara or conditioning. ‘I’ or ‘I AM’ is the mother of all conditioning. Because of this inborn conditioning, one thinks he is an individual separate from the world and the world existed prior to him and he is born in it afterward. 

Until this inborn conditioning is present one is in the grip of duality and he experiences the birth, life, death, and the world as reality.  This inborn conditioning makes one experience the illusory duality as reality. 

Remember:~ 

Man has a firm conviction that he is an individual separate from the world,  and the world existed prior to him and he is born in it afterward.  This conviction makes him remain in ignorance. And ignorance makes him accept the illusion as reality.  Thus, he is caught up in the web of illusion experiencing birth, life, death, and the world as reality.  

What is this universe (samsara), what is this illusion to the formless soul or consciousness, the innermost self?   the consciousness and the universe both are one in essence ultimately.

Only people who stick to the reality of the universe think of the body as body, ego as ego, and the world as the world.  It never strikes in them the waking experience in which they exist along with their world also as unreal as a dream.  

The dream becomes unreal when the waking takes place.  And the waking becomes unreal when the waking entity realizes it is not the self,  but the self is the formless witness (soul) of the three states.  

Consciousness is within the three states as their formless substance and it is apart from the three states as their formless witness.  It is apart because it is not an entity or identity within the three states.

Remember:~

The person, who stamped his feet on the ground to refute to show the world, is real, ignore that in a dream he would do exactly the same--stamp his dream foot on the ground and assert it to be real. 

When wisdom dawns, the Soul, the Self, wakes up in its formless nondual true nature in the midst of duality (waking). For a Gnani the body, ego, and the universe are a mere mirage created out of consciousness.

When the universe (mind) is considered not different from the consciousness (Soul), which is the Self, then there is the division of form, time, and space.  When form, time, and space are one in essence,  then where is the universe (mind).  

The universe (waking) is both real and unreal. It is real because it is a manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

Remember:~

People try to overcome their inherited religious conditioning, but by getting rid of the religious conditioning one will not be able to overcome the physical shackle.  One has to get rid of the inborn samskara or conditioning itself by realizing the fact that ‘I’ or ‘I AM’   is not the Self.

Only by getting rid of ignorance, one can get rid of the inborn samskara or conditioning.

v  What is the use of arguing on the base of the birth entity, which is not the Self?

v  What is the use of knowing what happens after death when the Self is birthless? 

v  What is the use of thinking of heaven and hell when the Self is not an individual and it is never born and never dies?

The Man is unaware of the fact that he and his experience of the world are within the waking experience.  The waking experience appears and disappears, in the same way as the dream. When there is a dream then there is no waking. When there is waking then there is no dream.  When there is neither a dream nor a waking it is identified as deep sleep in the waking experience.   

One is aware of the dream or deep sleep only in waking.  The one which is aware of the coming and going of the three states is neither the waking entity nor the dream entity but the formless witness of the three states. 

All the scriptures indicate that Atman is Brahman, and Brahman is the ultimate truth. Therefore the soul, which is in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth.  Thus, realizing the ultimate truth is the prime goal.   

A well-directed inquiry, analysis, and reasoning will lead one to his nondual destination.:~Santthosh Kumaar
