The Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara alone is a weapon to eliminate the ignorance.+

The yoga, religion, and worship of the religious Gods glorifying the Gurus is nothing to do with the Atmic Path. there is no need for discussion of yoga and religion in the Atmic path. there is no need to discuss other than the Atman, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Self-knowledge is not for those who believe in religion and its beliefs like mantras and worship of Gods. Mantras and prayers are nothing to do with the Atmic path. Those who are attached to Mantras and prayers and worship must continue in their chosen path the Atmic is not for those who are stuck with religious dross. In the Atmic path, the discussion is unimportant. One must think deeply and reflect on the subject. Passing their opinion with their accumulated knowledge will not help anyone.

Mythology deals with symbols. It is not history; it is not concerned with objective reality. But that does not mean that it is not concerned with reality itself. It is concerned with subjective reality. These Gods, these mythological symbols, do not exist outside of you, but they have a psychological existence and that psychological existence can be helpful and can be used. So the first thing to be understood is that they are not real persons in the world, but they are real symbols in the psyche of man.

Mythological Gods are a myth. All mantras are based on the mythological Gods who keep one in the prison of the dualistic illusion. The mantras never help to cross the trash hold of the form, time, and space. Mantras are meant for the ignorant populace who believe form, time, and space as reality. What is the use of the mantras based on the false God, that will yield falsehood?

That is why Sage Sri, Sankara says:~  VC 61. For one who has been bitten by the serpent of Ignorance, the only remedy is the knowledge of Brahman. Of what avail are the Vedas and (other) Scriptures, Mantras (sacred formulae), and medicines to such a one?

62. A disease does not leave off if one simply utters the name of the medicine, without taking it; (similarly) without direct realization one cannot be liberated by the mere utterance of the word Brahman.

That is why In Mundaka Upanishad 1:2:8:~ “Remaining in the fold of ignorance and thinking “we are extremely wise and learned,” the fools with boastful nature ramble about like the blind led by the blind alone.”

The people who follow religion think that by following their inherited religion is their duty. And questioning the Guru or scholars is irreligious. Thus, they indulge in rituals and hearing of religious discourses. They are weak and timid.

Lord Krishna Says Ch ~V: ~ “Those who know me in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

The dualistic worship of "God” is only for the ignorant populace. The God in truth is only Atman, the innermost Self. In reality, there is no duality, no differentiation. Only Atman exists.

The Vedas confirm God is Atman (Spirit), the Self.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman the innermost self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.

Rig Veda declares God is ‘ONE’ and God is Atman, then why believe and worship in place of real God.

Brihad Upanishad: ~ “If you think there is another entity, whether man or God there is no truth."

When Upanishad itself says: ~ Sarvam khalvidam brahma ~ all this (universe) is verily Brahman. By following back all of the relative appearances in the world, we eventually return to that from which it is all manifest – the non-dual reality (Chandogya Upanishad).

Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman (God) is impersonal, Nirguna (without Gunas or attributes), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without special characteristics), immutable, eternal, and Akarta (non-agent). It is above all needs and desires. It is always the Witnessing Subject. It can never become an object as it is beyond the reach of the senses. Brahman is non-dual, one without a second. It has no other besides it. It is destitute of difference, either external or internal. Brahman cannot be described because the description implies a distinction. Brahman cannot be distinguished from any other than It. In Brahman, there is not a distinction between substance and attribute. Sat-Chit-Ananda constitutes the very essence or Svarupa of Brahman, and not just Its attributes. The Nirguna Brahman of Sage Sankara is impersonal.

What happens if one worships one which is not the real God with mantras and prayers based on the dummy Gods. It is only priest-crafted baggage.

Yajurveda says: ~

Translation 1.

They enter darkness, those who worship natural things (for example air, water, sun, moon, animals, fire, stone, etc).

They sink deeper into darkness those who worship sambhuti. (Sambhuti means created things, for example, table, chair, idol, etc.) (Yajurveda 40:9)

Translation 2.

"Deep into the shade of blinding gloom fall asambhuti's worshippers. They sink to darkness deeper yet who on sambhuti are intent." (Yajurveda Samhita by Ralph T. H. Giffith pg 538)

All the accumulated knowledge from religion and yoga and paths and theories are mere dross in pursuit of truth. Religion and yoga are helpful for the populace, but they are a barricade in unfolding the mystery of the mind. Therefore, the orthodox people, if they are seeking the truth, then have to drop all accumulated dross to acquire nondual wisdom. The Advaitic wisdom alone is a weapon to eliminate ignorance.:~Santthosh Kumaar

The nature of the Soul is emptiness.+

Until one thinks the mind is within the body, all the doubts and confusion will prevail. When one indulges in deeper Self-search he becomes aware of the fact that the body and the world are within the mind. This is necessary to realize the fact that the body and the world together are the mind (I). Thus, it is necessary to investigate ‘What is this mind (I)?’, ‘What is the substance of the mind?” and ‘What is the source of the mind?’”
The seeker has to know what is real by realizing our body, ego and our experience of the world are merely an illusion created out of the  Soul or the consciousness, which is the innermost Self. The nature of the Soul is emptiness. And it is identified by different masters with different names, such as Brahman the Self, or the ultimate truth.
When the Soul the innermost Self, becomes aware of its formless non-dual nature then it becomes empty of ignorance or illusion or duality or experience of waking or dream. Thus, whatever remains empty of duality or ignorance or illusion is the non-dualistic reality. Only through wisdom, does one become aware of the truth in the midst of the duality.
That is why Sage Sankara said: - VC-63- Without causing the objective universe to vanish and without knowing the truth of the Self, how is one to achieve Liberation.
The universe will not remain as reality when wisdom dawns. The universe is a mere illusion created out of consciousness and there is a conscious awareness of unity in diversity because there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness.
One thinks the mind is within this body; whereas the body and his experience of the world are within the mind. Consciousness is hidden within the three states, but it is without the three states.
The one, which has the awareness of the three states, is not the body, but the Soul which is in the form of consciousness. Thus, consciousness is not limited to the waking experience alone because it pervades all three states.
Until one view and judges the three states, on the base of ego, he is in the grip of individuality. The Self is not an individual because it is universal. And it pervades everything and everywhere in all three states. Thus, individualized judgment will not lead one to a non-dual destination.
That is why Sage Sankara says: ~ VC~65. As a treasure hidden underground requires (for its extraction) competent instruction, excavation, the removal of stones and other such things lying above it and (finally) grasping, but never comes out by being (merely) called out by name, so the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by Maya and its effects, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, followed by reflection, meditation and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.
66. Therefore, the wise should, as in the case of disease and the like, personally strive by all the means in their power to be free from the bondage of repeated births and deaths.
Thus, one has to know what is real by realizing our body and our experience of the world is merely an illusion created out of the Soul or consciousness. The Soul is the  Self. The nature of the Soul the Self is emptiness. And it is identified by different masters with different names, such as God in truth or Brahman or the ultimate truth.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Mundaka Upanishad:~ Ignorant fools, regarding sacrifices and humanitarian works as the highest, do not know any higher good.+

Most of the saints and sages of the past are mostly social reformers, thus, they are more concerned with humanism rather than the truth. Their contribution is very valuable to living in the practical world. They introduced the path of love, the path of service, and the path of compassion to benefit humanity. But their contribution is not of any help to acquire ‘Self’-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
From the ultimate standpoint, humanity is part of the dualistic illusion or Maya. Whatever is part of the dualistic illusion should not be mixed with the path of wisdom. Mixing them up and trying to realize the truth is like mixing oil, into the water.

Mundaka Upanishad:~ Ignorant fools, regarding sacrifices and humanitarian works as the highest, do not know any higher good. Having enjoyed their reward on the heights of heaven, gained by good works, they enter again this world or a lower one. (First Mundaka -10- Chapter I)
Humanism is limited to practical life within the practical world. The path of love is the path for humanity therefore, it is an individualized path. Thus, the path of love is limited to the physical structure; it will not help the seeker to realize the truth beyond form, time, and space. Thus, the seeker has to understand the fact that, from the ultimate standpoint the practical life and practical world are merely an illusion.
The simple reason is that the average person may have a desire for knowledge but when the whole society is immersed in the belief system and feeling’ out of place because of societal fear and surrounding circumstances and makes him think, it unfits him to pursue the path of wisdom.
That is why Buddha said:~
Do not believe in spiritual teaching just because:-
1. It is repeatedly recited,
2. It is written in scriptures,
3. It was handed from guru to disciple,
4. Everyone around you believes it,
5. It has supernatural qualities,
6. It fits my beliefs anyway,
7. It sounds rational to me,
8. It is taught by a respectable person,
9. It was said to be the truth by the teacher,
10. One must defend it or fight for it.
However, only when it agrees with your experience and reason, and when it is conducive to the good and gain of oneself and all others, then one should accept the teachings, and live up to them." ....Buddha.
The seeker of truth is one who is ready to verify and has the courage to accept and reject the truth when he finds out what is the truth and what is the untruth. The meek will stick to their inherited conditioning and remain to experience dualistic illusion (world) as a reality.:~Santthosh Kumaar

A Gnani sees Sage Sankara not as a Jagadguru but as a Brahma Gnani.+

Sage Sankara Advaitic wisdom is Without a Parallel Sage Sankara's wisdom is lofty, sublime, and unique. It is highly interesting, inspiring, and elevating. No other wisdom can stand before it in boldness, depth, and subtle thinking.  Sage  Sankara’s wisdom is complete and perfect

Sage Sankara was a mighty, marvelous genius. He was a profound thinker of the first rank. He was a sage of the highest realization. His wisdom has brought solace, peace, and illumination to countless persons in the world. The Western thinkers bow their heads at the lotus-feet of Sage Sankara. His wisdom has soothed the sorrows and afflictions of the most forlorn persons and brought hope, joy, wisdom, perfection, freedom, and calmness to many. His wisdom commands the admiration of the whole world.

Biographical anecdotes about his childhood about the crocodile story and the story in Sage Sankara's life of going to Benares and occupying the body of another man and then having sexual intercourse with his wife is a myth created by orthodoxy hiding the real fact the reason best-known to the orthodoxy. Sage Sankara had the scientific spirit and when told by Saraswati the woman that he was talking emptily about sex, being a Sanyasi, he at once went to learn the truth by having actual intercourse himself’ and thus learning by experiment and observation.

Thus all the myths about Sage Sankara are nothing to do with the seeker of truth because the seeker is concerned only with the wisdom of the Sage Sankara

Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage  Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)

Sage Sankara: ~ The Gnani "should pass through life", not run away from life, and should take a middle course between seeking worldly honor and worldly abasement. (Chap.3.4.50; Sankara's commentary to Brahma Sutras)

Sage Sankara's work has got two aspects: the practical and the spiritual. He gave religious, rituals, and dogmatic instruction to the populace but pure wisdom only to the few who could rise to it. Hence, the interpretation of his writings by commentators is often confusing because they mix up the two viewpoints. Thus, they may assert that ritual is a means of realizing Brahman, which is absurd.

Sage Sankara varied his practical advice and doctrinal teaching according to the people he was amongst. He never told them to give their particular religion or beliefs or metaphysics completely; he only told them to give up the worst features of abuse: at the same time he showed just one step forward towards the truth.

Sage Sankara was extremely precise and careful in his choice of words. He was no fool in writing.  Sage Sankara did more than write books or initiate Sanyasin: He brought India into unity as a nation. He told people to Worship what they wish, remain in their particular religion, caste and creed, but remember also you are part of a larger whole.

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions will determine the phenomenal world observed and experienced.  The orthodox pundit seeing Sage Sankara will see differently from the A Gnani seeing the same Sage SankaraEach one of them interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge.  The Orthodox see Sage Sankara as the founder of their religion and also as Jagadguru of the Advaitic orthodox sect.  A Gnani sees Sage Sankara not as a Jagadguru but as a Brahma Gnani.

The orthodoxy believes their experience of birth, life, death, and rebirth, and the world as reality,  whereas a Gnani sees the world is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.  Thus, a  Gnani sees no second thing other than consciousness. The one who treads the path of wisdom gains the knowledge of reality beyond form, time, and space. A  Gnani has delved into and transcended consciously all identification with the experience form, time, and space.

Similarly, orthodoxy has to be bifurcated from philosophy. To realize the Advaitic wisdom of Sage Sankara one has to be free from all superstitions and dogmas and the rituals and scriptural knowledge.  The seeker has to be more rational and scientific in his attitude.

There are two kinds of audiences ~ the ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices, and the more seekers of truth who seek to know the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

The orthodoxy emphasis on karma and Upasana are meant for the first audience, to help lead its followers along the way. However, the Advaitic wisdom is meant for those who wish to go beyond the form, time, and space to realize the world in which they exist is merely an illusion.

Sage Sankara said: ~  Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but the liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Sage Sankara’s wisdom can be summed up into one sentence, ‘There is nothing else but Brahman'. He says that Absolute Existence, Absolute Knowledge, and Absolute awareness are real. The universe is not real. He says that Brahma and Atman are one. The ultimate and the Absolute Truth is the ‘Self’, which is one though appearing as many different individuals. The individual has no reality. Only the ‘Self’ is real; the rest, mental and physical are but passing appearances.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Don't unsettle the minds of ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth.+

Meher Baba: ~ "There is no higher or lower goal. There is only one goal, Self-Realization."
***
Neither by the practice of yoga nor philosophy nor by good works nor by learning, does liberation come, but only through the realization, n  the world in which we exist is created out of single stuff. And that single stuff is the consciousness, which leads to the realization of the truth beyond the form, time,  and space.

Jesus said:~"Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all." (Gospel of Thomas 2)

Jesus said: ~” Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you. (THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS- Saying 5)
***
Jesus said:~  Do not throw your pearls before pigs, lest they trample them underfoot and turn to attack you. (Matthew -7:6)

~ Jesus meant Self-knowledge should not be shared with unqualified people.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ “Don't unsettle the minds of the ignorant by revealing the esoteric truth."

Consciousness (Spirit) is the root element of the universe. From consciousness, the universe comes into existence. In consciousness, the universe resides. And into the consciousness, the universe is dissolved.   Consciousness is the parent of all that is there.

The  Soul, the 'Self' reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.
Upanishads:~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. (Katha Upanishads-II -23-P-20)
All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality.  You are the chosen one.

Millions are searching for truth, but one in million will realize it. You are one from that million.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana helps to a raft upon which one crosses a swift river to get to the other side of the dualistic illusion, once the shore beyond the form, time, and space is reached; there is no longer any need to carry the raft because the Soul, the Self, remains in its own awareness.

In Self-awareness, the river and the person crossing the river itself are an illusion.  The Soul, which is present in the form of  consciousness alone, is real and all else is an illusion

There is not so much information on Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana but there is plenty of information on religion, religious Gods, yoga, meditation,  rituals, cults, gurus, and their film flam, scandals, etc.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana requires that one find out for himself. This also means discovering, exploring, and thinking for oneself.

Bhagavad Gita: 7: 19:~ "Such a man who has attained true knowledge, the knowledge of Self, the knowledge of Atman, worships the Self as~ Atman (God in truth) alone exists~ everything is Atman, there exists nothing except Atman. Such a man is extremely rare"

Looking for mystical gurus and yogis are not related to finding real Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

A vast majority of these spiritual problems disappear as one takes full responsibility for his own "enlightenment"-- free of religion, god glorification, scriptural knowledge, cultural dogma, and burnt-out historical traditions.

In the pursuit of truth, everything is all summed up in inquiring, analyzing, and reasoning on the base of the Soul, the innermost  Self that is something one tries for himself and finds out for himself.

Therefore, once one has that pointer, that direction, there is no need to waste time and effort. If one is interested in the history of gurus or yogis, or if one finds his transcribed talks entertaining or soothing, that is OK. Otherwise, once one becomes aware of the fact that ‘I’ is not the self, but the soul is the true self he will be able to drop all the accumulated dross.

Remember:~

Self-knowledge will not arise from the exchange of views and opinions and arguments. The accumulated knowledge is not a yardstick, to realize the truth beyond the form, time, and space.
In the path of wisdom discussion of the unimportant subject matter is a great hindrance. The path of truth is the path of verification. Nothing has to be accepted as truth without verification. Agreeing to disagree causes unnecessary friction.
As with all things, achieving a balance of peaceful communications is established with respect, humility, understanding, and patience. Balancing an achievement is harder.
The seeker has to stop passing unimportant opinions in this Atmic path. Atmic path is not the path of discussion, but the path of realization of the truth, which is beyond form, time, and space.
The Seeker has to think deeply instead of passing an opinion on his own point of view and he has to drop the judgmental attitude, which bars the realization of the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.
Intellectual discussion is a great hindrance in the pursuit of truth because intellectual knowledge is dualistic knowledge based on ignorance.
The nondualistic truth is very simple. It is very difficult to realize because it is lost in the dualistic knowledge we inherited, collected from different sources, different masters’ different gurus, different philosophies, different ideologies, different books, and scriptures. All this accumulated knowledge is a mere hill of garbage.
Nothing is needed other than realizing the knowledge of the single stuff. The single stuff is the cause of the world in which we exist. And that single stuff itself is causeless. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
The Soul is the  Self. Knowledge of the Soul, the  Self, is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Atma Gnana is knowledge of God in truth. Realizing God in this very life is your goal. God-realization itself is real worship.
A perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ is needed. Only an intense urge to know the truth, humility sincerity and patience are the only qualifications to realize God in this very life and in this very world.

Chandogya Upanishads: ~ “This universe comes forth from Brahman and will return to Brahman. Verily, all is Brahman. A person is what his deep desire is. It is our deepest desire in this life that shapes the life to come. So let us direct our deepest desires to realize the Self.

Ashtavakra Gita:~“The universe rises from the Soul, the Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus know the ‘Self’ to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."

Sage Sankara said: ~A.A~ 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman (consciousness), and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

The ‘Self’ is not the mind. The mind is present in the form of not the world in which we exist.  The world appears as a waking or dream (duality) and disappears as deep sleep (nonduality).    The ‘Self’ is the Soul. The Soul is present in the form of consciousness. The consciousness pervades everything and everywhere in all three states. Thus, diversity is created out of single stuff. That stuff is consciousness.

Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman because there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness.   From the standpoint of the Soul, the form, time, and space are one, in essence.

In spirituality, God means the ultimate truth, or Brahman or God in truth. Self-realization is the truth- realization. Truth- realization is God-realization.

Sage Sankara: ~VC~ If the universe be true, let it then be perceived in the state of deep sleep also. As it is not at all perceived, it must be unreal and false like dreams.

That is why Sage Sankara says:Brahman is the truth The World is Unreal everything is Truly Brahman and nothing else has any value.

If you are seeking truth then do not waste time finding a Guru and becoming his slave.  The Gurudom belongs to the religious and yogic path and it is nothing to do with the Advaitic path.

Upanishads:~  Fools dwelling in darkness, but thinking they wise and erudite, go round and round, by various tortuous paths, like the blind led by the blind. (Upanishads Nikilanada - Ch II-5 P-14)

There is no need for a Guru, to know you and your Guru and the world in which you exist are created out of single clay and that single clay is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  Knowledge of that single stuff is the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  Atma Gnana is given neither from outside nor from another person.

There is no need to follow anyone. There is no need to practice anything but perfect understanding and assimilation of ‘what is what’ leads to realizing the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space.

The Soul the ’Self’ reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study the Scriptures, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman
~ then why do you indulge in studying the scriptures.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to study philosophy, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman.
~then why do you indulge in studying philosophy.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in rituals, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman
~then why do you indulge in rituals.
Sage Sankara says: ~ there is no need to indulge in yoga, to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman
~then why do you indulge in yoga.
Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)

~ then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.

Sage Sankara says: ~The exercise in discrimination between real and unreal and renunciation of the false is real meditation, then why you are indulging in other types of meditation.
Those who tell you that Brahman is unity, that you can get it only by intuition, that you should not reason, you should not question or inquire, are deluding you. Verification must come by thought.
Drop your entire accumulated knowledge drop all the physical Gurus, the Soul the inner Guru, is waiting for you to take the first step for you to realize there are no more steps.
You will realize your body and your experience of the world are nothing but consciousness thus you will realize that God (Soul) is the fullness of the consciousness. Everything is God nothing but God. Do not waste time attending sermons and Satsang. Real Satsanga is reflecting on Soul, which is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
All my writings are an inner revelation to show the truth hidden under the garbage of religion and theories, beliefs, and ideology.
There is no need to condemn religion, theories, beliefs, and ideology, but the seeker’s aim is to drop what is not the truth and accept only the truth beyond form, time, and space. Whatever belongs to form, time and space is not the truth because the nature of the Soul is the formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.
In the past, Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was imparted only to a few because sages of truth had preserved it people were more interested in their religious beliefs. Now a day’s people are more advanced, capable of understanding assimilating, and realizing the truth beyond the form, time, and space.
Start your journey even though you may find it difficult at first as you go on reading the post your subconscious will start dropping the dualistic egocentric knowledge and start accepting the Soul-centric Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Advaitic Orthodox tradition and the parampara are nothing to do with Sage Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom.+

Sage Sankara’s wisdom is nothing to do with his Advaitic orthodoxy.  The Advaitic orthodoxy is meant for the ignorant populace. The Advaitic orthodoxy has to be dropped if one has chosen the path of wisdom. Those who propagate the Advaitic orthodoxy as the means to Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana are propagating ignorance. Those who choose the path of Advaitic orthodoxy have chosen the path of ignorance.
It is time for the educated Orthodox to wake up to realize Sage Sankara’s wisdom is the only wisdom in the world that helps to get rid of ignorance.
Bhagavata clearly says in 7.11.35 that: ~
yasya yal laks?an?am? proktam?
um?so varn??bhivyajakam
ad anyatr?pi dr??yeta
at tenaiva vinirdi?et
~Means: -Just because one is born to a Brahmin doesn’t automatically make him a Brahmin. But he has more chances of becoming a Brahmin by acquiring Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the only qualification of Brahmin to become a Brahmin. If a person born to a non-Brahmin who acquires Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana possesses he/she should be immediately accepted as a Brahmin.”
The orthodoxy is a great hindrance in the pursuit of truth because it makes the inborn samskara or conditioning (I or I AM) more and stronger. Till this inborn conditioning prevails it is impossible to grasp, assimilate and realize the non-dual truth. The orthodoxy is egocentric and egocentricity is a great obstacle in the path of wisdom.
The orthodoxy indulges in all non-Vedic rituals and because of add-ons and adulteration and such rituals lead one nowhere and it is a waste of time and effort. Thus orthodoxy is not for those who are seeking truth nothing but the truth. Mixing orthodoxy and preaching non-duality is a foolish venture. By worshipping Gods and chanting mantras of the individualized God, the ignorance becomes stronger. It is very difficult to get rid of the belief in the personal God which is deep-rooted in everyone who accepted the Advaitic orthodoxy to get self-realization.
Rituals and theories are not meant for those who are searching for the Brahman or ultimate truth. All the Orthodox Advaitins indulge and immersed themselves in a ritualistic oriented lifestyle and preach theoretical philosophies which are the obstacle to realizing the Advaitic truth. Many chose these orthodox scholars as their Gurus. But these Gurus are good to learn the conceptual Advaita meant for those Orthodox who believe their conduct-oriented lifestyle leads to liberation. But those who are seeking the truth have to do their own homework in order to acquire Self-knowledge.
That is why Goudpada says:~ The merciful Veda teaches karma and Upasana to people of lower and middling intellect while jnana is taught to those of higher intellect.
Thus, the Orthodox-based Advaita is not meant for those seeking ultimate truth or Brahman but orthodoxy is meant for people of lower and middling intellect. Those who are seeking Advaitic truth have to drop orthodoxy in order to realize the ultimate truth or Brahman.
The priests preach indulge in rituals to chant mantras thinking these mantras will yield fruits. Those who follow the priests blindly follow what priests and pundits prescribe will never be able to grasp Sage  Sankara’s Advaitic wisdom.
Advaitic Orthodox tradition and the parampara are nothing to do with Sage  Sankara’s wisdom. Advaitic orthodoxy is meant for the ignorant populace. Thus,  it is not a path of wisdom.
Sage Sankara page 482: On Gnani: ~ "The knower of Brahman wears no signs. Gives up the insignia of a monk's life…his signs are not manifest, nor his behavior."
Sage Sankara: ~ The Knower of the Atman or the knower of Brahman or Brahma Gnani.
When the knower of Brahman (Gnani) wears no signs it means he does not identify himself as Guru or yogi or teacher or Swami because a Gnani sees the form, the time and space are one in essence. Thus, there is unity in diversity in his realization.
Sage Sankara says the knower of Brahman wears no signs. Gives up the insignia of a monk's life then it is of no use of renouncing the worldly life and become and sanyasi or monk or Sadhu to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Brahma Gnana.
Sage Sankara said:-~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.
According to Advaita Vedanta, the Veda addresses itself to two kinds of audiences - the ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices, and the more advanced seeker who seeks to know Brahman. Thus, the Purva mimam. sa, with its emphasis on the Karma kanda of the Vedas, is meant for the first audience, to help lead its followers along the way. However, the Vedanta, with its emphasis on the Gnana kanda, is meant for those who wish to go beyond such transient pleasures.
Advaitic Orthodoxy is meant for the ignorant and ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices. :~Santthosh Kumaar
