Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the destroyer of ignorance.+

Sage Sankara says ~ VC-162- There is no liberation for a person of mere book knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.

Sage Sankara says: ~ VC 56. Neither by Yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by good work, nor by learning, but by the realization of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.

As we keep digging deeper and deeper, the truth will shines as pure awareness in the midst of the duality (waking).

The Soul, the ‘Self’ is your ultimate teacher. It is only your inner teacher that will walk with you to the goal, for the Soul is the goal.

Millions are searching for truth but one in million will realize it. You are one from that million because you have the intense urge to realize the ultimate truth. 

When the seeker is ready, the guidance comes on its own.  An earnest desire to grow and a sense of deep commitment are the hallmarks of one who aspires to be a seeker. 

When at the core of one’s being a person comes to realize he/she needs to seek a path for coming out of one’s unconscious and conditioned life, mysteriously the guidance appears to guide and shows the way.

Read repeatedly my postings and blogs and reflect and reason deeply which helps you to create a mental yardstick in your subconscious to discriminate between ‘what is the truth? And what is the untruth? When the subconscious is receptive and ready then it will start rejecting the untruth and finally then the Soul, the 'Self’ alone will prevail as the ultimate truth or Brahman or God.

There is no practice as such, but perfect understanding is needed to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atman Gnana.

A deeper Self-search reveals the fact that the Self is not physical, but the Self is a formless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Therefore, all the accumulated knowledge, experiences, and understanding based on the ego are falsehood because the ego is the false self, within the false experience (waking).

The ‘Self’ is not you. You are the ego. The ego is the waking entity. Thus, whatever is based on the waking entity is bound to be a falsehood because the waking experience itself is a falsehood. All the Gurus and their teachings limit the ‘Self’ as individuality. Thus, they yield only half-truths.

There is a need to realize the three states, which come and go, are merely an illusion. All three states are made of single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Knowledge of the single stuff is Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

The seeker should share the Advaitic wisdom with the fellow seekers, which will help to bring them nearer to their spiritual Goal.

No gift is greater than sharing wisdom with fellow seekers and there is no task more important than the task of helping the fellow seekers to acquire Advaitic wisdom.

A Gnani helps the seeker to get rid of the ignorance by imparting the Advaitic wisdom, which consumes ignorance.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the destroyer of ignorance.  The Soul or consciousness is the Self is the guru and the God, the all-pervading principle and the cause of all three states and it itself is uncaused.

One is ignorant and he asserts the awareness, ever-existent consciousness, which exists in all the three states as its formless substance and witness.   And it is also apart from the three states.  The witness is formless and it is not an entity and identity within the waking or dream.

The body, the ego, and the world are made of single stuff.  That single stuff is consciousness.  There is no second thing that exists other than consciousness.  In reality, there is no physical body, no world, because there is no duality because there is only unity in diversity.  

Remember:~

 It is erroneous to say that only by transcending the ego; one is able to experience formless, timeless, and space-less unmanifested dimensions. It is wrong to say that the universe erupted from the big void, from nothingness. All these are mere imaginations based on the false Self.    You are not the Self.  You are the ego. The ego is the false self within the false experience (waking).

It is not you, who is forgetting the Soul, the innermost Self.  It is the Soul that forgets itself within the dualistic illusion.   The ignorance is the cause of the dualistic illusion or Maya.  You and your world are within the dualistic illusion. Thus, you and your individual experience of birth, life, death, and the world is nothing to do with the Soul, the Self. When the ignorance vanishes, then the Soul, the Self, remains in its own awareness. 

Our body and the world in which we exist are made out of single stuff. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. 

Thus, the whole universe in which we exist is nothing but consciousness.  Thus, consciousness alone is real and the universe in which we exist is merely an illusion. Thus, all the contents of the universe are merely an illusion.

You are bound by birth, life and death, and the world. You are born within the world, which is an illusion. You are living within the illusory world, and you are going to die within the illusory world. Whatever is born, lives, and dies within the illusory world is not the Self.

 

Only in illusion, there is form, time, and space. The form, time, and space within the illusory world are nothing to do with the Soul, the  Self. 

The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.  From the standpoint of the Soul, the Self, there is no scope form, time and space. In the real nature of the Soul, there is no duality.

All the years you have passed are within an illusion. Billions of past and future years belong to the illusion.  The things that happened billions of years ago and the things that are to happen billions of years from now are happenings within the illusion. The illusion is an illusion is nothing to do with the Soul, the  Self. 

The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman.  The practical life within the practical world is nothing to do with the Soul, the Self.  

The Soul is the formless substance and the witness of the illusion.  In the realm of the truth, the substance and the witness of the illusion are one in essence. That essence is the Soul or consciousness.  Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God,

Remember:~

Till one has the conviction that he is an individual, separate from the world, and the world existed prior to him, and he is born with it, he will remain in ignorance of the reality of the true existence. 

Till this conviction is there it is impossible to grasp the Advaitic truth, because his views and judgments are based on the physical Self (ego) with the physical world (waking).  

Individuality is a reality within the waking experience, but the waking experience itself is a falsehood. 

Thus, holding the view as an individual within the false experience is leading to a hallucination.  The waking experience is a parallel dream, and the dream is a parallel waking experience. 

The Soul, the Self is omniscient. What we all will think tomorrow is within the illusory world.  Whatever you were, how you felt, how you thought, how you worked, and what work you are now doing is within the illusory world. 

The Soul, the Self is,    nothing to do with you and your world.  So, the best thing for you is to realize the fact that you are not the Self.  :~Santthosh Kumaar
