Advaita Sages agreed in nearly all points with Buddha.+

Bhagavan Buddha was a Gnani, but his interpreters are not. Bhagavan Buddha did not enter into the scriptural interpretation. So the Vedic people threw him out of their religion.

Advaita sages agreed in nearly all points with Bhagavan Buddha. Buddhism has failed through misunderstanding Gautama and believing that nothing is left to exist after Nirvana. What is it that sees the illusory nature of the finite ego? This is what Buddhism needs to answer and cannot on their theories.

Advaitic sages say: ~  it is the Seer. The Buddhists are in error in regarding the finite ego as illusory, and as having nothing more behind it: but they would have been perfectly correct in such outlook had they added the notion of the Seer or Witness. How is it that Skandas come together and compose the ego? Who sees them come and go? It is the Witness or the seer, the Atman, which is in the form of consciousness, and through amazing the formless witness and witnessed (universe) one becomes aware of the existence of the formless witness mentally.

When they say that, the mind comes and goes they are forgetting that there must be another part of the mind as consciousness that notices it and which tells them of this disappearance and appearance. All their misunderstandings arise from the fact that Buddhism does not penetrate to find the answer to the ultimate questions. The truth of a single reality within or underlying the illusory universe or mind is all-important and without it Buddhism becomes fallacious.

The ultimate truth can be realized without Buddhism or Advaitic teaching if one is ready to inquire analyze and reason on the base of the true Self. Therefore, it is necessary to make sure of the fact that, the self is not the form but the Self is formless, then rectify the reasoning base, from form to formless to understand, assimilate and realize the Advaitic truth.

Mundaka Upanishad:~ This Atman cannot be attained through study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Atman—by him alone is Atman attained. It is Atman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. (3 –page-70 Mundaka Upanishad  Upanishads by Nikilanada)

When the Upanishads say:  the human goal is to acquire Self-Knowledge and they indicate the personal gods, scriptures, worship, and rituals are not the means to Self –Knowledge, then why anyone should indulge in it. The religion, concept of individualized god and scriptures are the greatest obstacle to realizing non-dual truth or Self-realization because they are based on the false self.  The seeker of truth has to search for the ultimate truth without losing himself in the labyrinths of philosophy, through deeper, inquiry, analysis, and reasoning, and assimilate and realize it.:~Santthosh Kumaar

Nothingness is the nature of the Soul, the Self. +

Nothingness/ emptiness/ Sunya/ void is one, and the same thing.
Nothingness is the fullness of consciousness without the illusory division of form, time, and space.
In reality: ~
Where is the body?
Where is the mind?
Where is the world?
The void; or despair in the true Self, which is the taintless Soul, is present in the form of consciousness. They are or have become consciousness.
One thinks there is THE mind when he has thoughts, but when thoughts are not considered different from the consciousness, which is the true Self, then where is the division into, waking, dream and deep sleep, etc.
Void implies duality: the universe may not exist, but the thought of the second is there. If one knows there is a Void (emptiness/nothingness), then there is something there to be known and know. They are or have become consciousness.
All these appearances are merely an illusion that comes and go; hence meaningless to the Soul, the Self.
The sun, the moon, the stars, planets shine because of the Soul or Spirit. The Soul shines and all things else shine as a result. Everything in the universe reflects but that light of the Soul which is present in the form of consciousness. Merely knowing the truth is not enough to escape from the tangle of illusion.
One who realizes the 'Self' discovers that everything in the cosmos-- energy and space, fire and water, names and forms, birth and death, thoughts and words and deeds is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.
All is consciousness. The whole universe is consciousness. From consciousness, the universe comes. When the universe disappears, consciousness still remains without form, time, and space
Sage Sankara disagrees with Buddhists who say, there is nothing - a nonentity. Sage Sankara believes there is some reality, even though things are not what they appear to be. If one knows the truth, he will know what to do to find inspiration for action. The seeker of truth‘s subject is to know what is it that is Real.
Buddhism says: all things are illusory and nothing exists. However, Advaita avers that it is not so. It says that the universe, of course, is illusory, but there is Brahman (consciousness), that exists forming the very substratum of all things (illusion or universe). :~Santthosh Kumaar

Gravity is an illusion created out of the Soul, the Self, which is God. Gravity is nonexistent in the domain of God.+

How can one find the infinite in the finite,  because the finite is created out of the infinite?  It has not been possible to preach Advaitic Truth entirely free from the settings of dualistic weakness,  it has not been more operative and useful to mankind at large because only a few will be able to grasp and realize it.

'To realize the Advaitic Truth a freer and fuller scope the seeker has to realize the form, time and space are one in essence. And that essence is consciousness. And the Soul, the Self is present in the form of consciousness.

Gravity is a  reality within the duality. The duality is merely an illusion. Gravity is present within the waking experience and gravity is absent in deep sleep. The waking experience itself is an illusion from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self. Gravity is a reality within the illusion.

Gravity is an illusion created out of the Soul, the Self, which is God.  Gravity is nonexistent in the domain of God.

The electron, proton, and all scientific investigations are a reality within the duality. The duality is merely an illusion from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self.

All the contents of the universe in which we exist are created out of single stuff. That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  The knowledge of that single stuff is self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

The sun, the moon, the stars, planets shine because of the Soul or the Spirit or consciousness.

The Soul shines and all things else shine as a result. Everything in the universe reflects but that light of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Merely knowing the truth is not enough to escape from the tangle of the illusion.

Science has begun to admit that the world of the spirit and the world of matter are not two antipodes...  A leading British astronomer, Sir James Jeans, confessed that the scientific conception of the universe in the past was mistaken and that the borderline between the objective world, as it is manifested in nature, and the subjective one, as it expresses itself through the mind, hardly exists.  In (a 1934 address at Cornell University), he said: “The Nature we study does not consist so much of something we perceive as of our perceptions, it is not the object ... but the relation itself.  There is, in fact, no clear-cut division between the subject and object.”  Twenty years earlier, such a statement would have been sheer heresy.  Likewise, a search for the Ultimate Reality that we usually call "God," a search along both intellectual and unorthodox lines,  need not be regarded as either heresy or sacrilege.:~Santthosh Kumaar

The Soul, the God is Self-evident.+

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

The Soul, the  God is Self-evident.  The Soul is present in the form of consciousness.  It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny the Soul because it is the very essence of the one who denies It. The Soul is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. The Soul is within, the Soul is without;  the Soul is before,  the Soul is behind;  the Soul is on the right,  the Soul is on the left;  the Soul is above and the Self is below. The Soul alone is real, all else is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Advaita means not the non-existence of a second thing, but its non-existence as other than the Soul is present in the form of the consciousness. One must know it is of the same substance as the objects.

Nondual Truth is possible only in duality when there is both the knower and a known. Hence,  the truth is one’s idea of a thing. The reality is the fact, the thing itself. The truth is used for communication about reality. The ultimate truth is beyond all doubt and contradiction. It is not an assumption or idea but the Reality itself. Hence, the ultimate truth and ultimate realities are one and the same.

It is impossible to know that God is everywhere. What is God?  God cannot exist without duality. In non-dual reality, there is no man, no world, and no belief in god. God has no meaning in the realm of truth. It is a mere imagination or assumption.

The Soul, which is in the form of consciousness, is the formless substance and witness of the mind, which appears as waking or dream. The dream is a parallel waking experience and the waking experience is a parallel dream.

One cannot prove the existence of any God that is everywhere apart from consciousness.  Thus, for the seeker of truth, the consciousness, which is the ultimate truth itself is God.  In non-dual reality,  neither the universe is reality nor the man nor the idea of God because there is no second thing exists other than consciousness because everything is consciousness.

Deeper Self-search is the only tool to reach the non-dual destination. The thoughts arise only when the Self is considered as the form.   Thoughts cannot rise without form. Without the duality, the thoughts will not form.  The duality will not form without the ignorance of the Soul, which is the innermost Self.

Till man thinks of himself as the doer he will remain in ignorance. Until he is ignorant and he will not be able to believe that birth, life and death are an illusion.  Until he realizes the three states are unreal he will not be able to accept birth, life, and death as an illusion.

Until he thinks of illusion(duality) as a reality he will not be able to assimilate Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Remember:~

People who stuck to their religious beliefs and think scriptural authorities as the ultimate truth will not be able to assimilate Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.   Soul, which is the true Self, is nothing to do with religion and its code of conduct. Observing and following the religious code of conduct are accepting the false Self as the true Self.

Accepting so-called spiritual laws is accepting the illusion as reality. The laws are a reality within the dualistic illusion or Maya.

The one who thinks of existence and spiritual laws is accepted as a person perceiving the world that is accepting himself as the doer. When the man is not the doer, how the actions are done on the base of false identity can yield fruits.

The seeker has to think when he is a false entity within the false experience, the religion he follows, the belief he believes, the truth he has accepted, the knowledge he has accumulated, or whatever he has seen known, or experienced as a person bound to be a falsehood.

There is no need to condemn any ones’ views and ideas or writing, but without being judgmental, the seeker has to verify whether the author is speaking from the standpoint of ego, or whether he is speaking from the standpoint of the formless Soul, the Self.

If his views are based on the standpoint of the physical Self or ego, then there are many doubts and confusion. If his views are based on the Soul as Self then there are no confusion and doubts of any sort.

Nothing has to be accepted without verifying the validity of any claim in pursuit of truth. Only uncontradictable truth has to be accepted as truth.  There is no need to condemn any religion or any saints or sages, but the seeker has to think beyond religion, scriptures, and individualized gods.

Remember:~

The religious, yogic, and worldly truths are individual truths based on form.  The spiritual truth is the universal truth, which is based on the Soul, the innermost Self. The truth which is based on the formless Soul, the  Self is the ultimate truth or Brahman or Christ or Emptiness.

Religion is based on the body (form) as the Self since it is based on birth. Spirituality is based on the Soul (formless). Thus, there is a need to bifurcate religion from spirituality. Religion views and judges from the standpoint of the physical Self (ego), whereas in pursuit of truth everything is viewed, judged, and concluded on the base of the Soul, which is the true Self.  Whatever is based on the physical entity is not spirituality because the Soul has no form, so it has no religion.  Therefore, the seeker of truth has to rectify the seeking base, from form to formless, to understand and assimilate the Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Thus, viewing judging the ultimate truth on the base of the ego (false self)  or egocentric accumulated knowledge will not unfold the mystery of the mind or universe.  There is no need for religion, god glorification, and scriptures in pursuit of truth since the  Self is neither the waking entity nor the Self is a dream entity but the Self is the Soul, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states.

The experience of diversity (form) becomes oneness in deep sleep, and Oneness (formless) becomes diversity in waking or dream. Therefore, that which becomes the diversity (form), and that which becomes Oneness (formless) is not our physical entity, because the physical entity is present only in waking and dream. The one, which is aware of all the three states, is formless, apart, and eternal which is the Soul. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness itself is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God

To realize this truth, one has to realize first “What is the truth? and “What is untruth?” between the dual (waking or dream) and non-dual experiences.  Searching for the truth on the base of inherited religious conditioning and accumulated bookish or scriptural knowledge is not the means to Self or god or truth realization.

Remember:~

Nondual wisdom can be attained by anyone ~ be the criminal or a person from any walk of life -if he will only pursue it to the end, for he will rise by stages until he reaches the level of understanding non-causality when the highest stage will open before him. Only his own dullness of intelligence can prevent him from attaining nondual wisdom.

The most advanced seeker is the one who exercises his rational thinking when desires or attractions present themselves,  whereas the least advanced is unable or unwilling to distinguish between primitive desires which arise from his unconscious and the paths laid down for him by his reason.

One must give some time to reflect upon this inquiry, and if he cannot find the time, if his mind is too distracted by activities or worries then he must go to yoga or meditation and get peace alone.

For the seeker must direct the whole of his attention, his whole mind, to the subject of inquiry and reasoning on the true base.  Discrimination means reasoning or inquiry.

Seekers of truth should not be disheartened, try over and over again. When he sees that authoritarianism does not give him the truth, he goes further. He must have the determination to get at it. Experience tells him that every time he attempts, he progresses.

Advaitic  Truth may be as bitter as poison, but he must like it as nectar. Those who can not do this are unfit for Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

The right kind of seeker of truth will accept and search for truth whether it brings bitterness or sweetness, whatever it tastes like, for its own sake. He must be prepared to find God as impersonal and to lose his own individuality for the sake of Advaitic truth.:~Santthosh Kumaar

The purpose of the Self realization is to realize the whole universe in, which we exist, is created out of a single stuff.+

The purpose of Self-realization is to realize the whole universe in, which we exist, is created out of single stuff. And that single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul is the Self.

There is neither the projection (the world in we all exist), nor the projector exists as a reality, when the Soul, the  Self remains its own awareness.  The Soul remains in its own awareness when wisdom dawns.

Everyone is not on the same level of understanding. Everyone’s inner work is on. You will slowly steadily but surely able to understand, assimilate and realize nondualistic or Advaitic truth if you have an intense urge to know the ultimate truth. Because the man is egocentric he feels the world in which he is born, lives and dies as a  reality. But when he becomes soulcentric he realizes his body, his ego and the world in which he exists is merely an illusion created out of the soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

People’s observation is based on the dualistic (matter or body or ego) perspective, whereas a Gnani’s judgment is based on the nondualistic (Soul or Spirit or Consciousness) perspective.  On the standpoint of the soul, the innermost self, the three states are merely an illusion.

Remember:~

He who thinks God is one and the Soul, the Self is another can never be able to understand, assimilate realize non- dualistic or Advaitic truth.

It is not the man, who has to be free, but it is the Soul, the Self has to be free by realizing it is not the man perceiving the world.

People want to get freedom, but freedom comes only when the Soul wakes up without the illusory body and the illusory world (duality).

It is the Soul, the Self is in the cage of illusion. It is the Soul that wants to get out of the illusion because the illusion and the reality are one in essence. That essence is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Thus, all that man experiences within the dualistic illusion of practical life within the practical world and seeing the vision, speaking to God, seeing God are a reality within the dualistic illusion or Maya.

From the Nondualistic perspective, there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. From the standpoint of Brahman or God in truth, everything is Brahman or God in truth.

Sage Goudpada quotes from the Upanishads: ~"There's no plurality here"; "The Soul through its powers appears to be many"; "those who are attached to creation or production or origination go to utter darkness"; "the unborn is never reborn, for what can produce it?”

No conceptual God can exist, apart from consciousness

People are not aware of the fact that there is no individual God can exist, apart from the soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Thus, the Soul or consciousness.   If there is no consciousness, then there is no physical body, no ego, no universe, no religion, and no conceptual gods.

People think that there must be a creator of this universe. If one thinks physical entity or ego as the Self, then there is a creator, but if one thinks the Soul as the Self, then there is nothing exists other than Soul or consciousness.

If one objectifies and sees a universe, then he is bound to see many things besides himself and postulate a God, the creator. The Body, the idea of the God and world rise and set together from, and into, the soul or consciousness, the innermost self. If God is apart from the ‘Self ‘, then He would be Self-less, that is, outside existence, that is, non-existent.

Jesus said:~"Do not give dogs what is sacred; do not throw your pearls to pigs. If you do, they may trample them under their feet, and then turn and tear you to pieces (Matthew 7:6)

Jesus said: ~  " If you bring forth that within yourselves, that which you have will save you. If You Do not have that within your selves, that which you do not have will kill you. ~ Jesus Said: " Let him who seeks, not cease until he Finds. -- And when he finds he will be troubled, He will marvel, and he will reign over all. -- and he said:" whoever finds an explanation of these words will not taste Death. " ~(From The Gnostic Gospel Of Thomas)

Jesus said:~ "Those who seek should not stop seeking until they find. When they find, they will be disturbed. When they are disturbed, they will marvel, and will reign over all." (Gospel of Thomas 2)

Jesus said: ~ ”Know what is in front of your face, and what is hidden from you will be disclosed to you. (THE GOSPEL OF THOMAS- Saying 5)

The Soul, the Self, the Soul is present in the form of consciousness. The consciousness is the root element of the universe. From the consciousness the universe comes into existence. In the consciousness the universe resides. And into the consciousness, the universe is dissolved.   The consciousness is the parent of all that is there is.

The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman Christ or God. Thus, everything is God nothing but God.

Gospel Thomas logian 22:~ Jesus saw infants being suckled.  He said to his disciples, “These infants being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom.”

They said to him, “Shall we then, as children, enter the kingdom?”

Jesus said to them,  “When you make the two one, and when you make the inside like the outside  and the outside like the inside, and the above like the below, and when you make the male and the female one and the same, so that the male not be male nor the female is female; and when you fashion eyes in the place of an eye,  and a hand in place of a hand, and a foot in place of a foot, and a likeness in place of a likeness; then will you enter the kingdom.”

When one realizes the mind (matter) and the Soul, the Spirit is one in essence then there is no place for duality. Without duality, the universe ceases to exist as a reality. Without the universe, your existence within the universe is merely an illusion because there is scope for two. Everything is created out of single stuff.   That single stuff is the consciousness or the  Spirit. The Spirit or consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God. :~Santthosh Kumaar

'I ' is bound by the form, time and space.+

To know what is God we must know what the Self is. In deeper Self-search, we become aware of the fact that our body, ego, and our experience of the universe are created out of single stuff, which is consciousness.
Due to ignorance, we identify the Soul with the body and we become egocentric.
When we become aware of the fact that, the Self is not the form but the Self is formless Soul then we become Soul-centric and realize the fact that, all three states are merely an illusion created out of consciousness.
Consciousness is the ultimate truth. Consciousness is our Self. The Soul or consciousness is the ultimate truth is God or Brahman or God in truth.

Remember:~

The Soul, the Self is ever free. How could the free ever be bound? It was never bound. Only within the illusion of form, time, and space, it is bound. From the standpoint of the Soul, the  Self, the form, time, and space are merely an illusion.  How could the unlimited ever be limited by anything? Infinite divided by infinite, added to infinite, multiplied by infinite remains infinite.

The Soul, the Self is infinite.  The Soul, the Self is God in truth. God is infinite There cannot be two existences, only one. The Infinite can never be made finite. The Soul, the   Self is never bound. Realizing the Soul as the Self, the Soul is free already.  Through Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana the goal is reached -- all there is to reach.

The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe is present in the form of form, time, and space.  Without form, time, and space there is no duality. The duality is not reality from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self.

The mind is present in the form of form, time, and space. Thus, whatever belongs to form, time and space is falsehood. Thus, the universe in which we exist as reality is a falsehood.   Thus, there is a need to know ‘what is what’ in order to realize the truth beyond form, time, and space.

The ‘I’ disappears as deep sleep, so what is the use of being attached to it? It is impermanent and illusory because ‘I’ is physical awareness. Physical awareness is not self-awareness. ‘I-less awareness is self-awareness.

There is really no ‘I’. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. And the mind is in the form of the universe. And the universe appears as a waking or dream.

The ‘I’ or mind or universe or waking or dream dies and disappears as deep sleep.  Thus one that appears as ‘I’ or mind or universe or waking or dream is consciousness, and it disappears as deep sleep is also consciousness.

In deep sleep, it is in its formless nondual true nature.  The one, which witnesses the coming and going of the three states, is also consciousness.   Thus, the witness and witnessed are one in essence.

Thus, the universe is a reality on the base of individuality and the universe is unreal on the base of the Soul,   the Self. :~Santthosh Kumaar

In yogic or Nirvikalpa Samadhi, is just like swoon or deep sleep, where one is unaware of anything, not even the universe.+

Lord Krishna confesses that the oldest wisdom of India (our true Advaita philosophy) has been lost: people misinterpret and falsify it today as they did then. It is not yoga but philosophic truth. But nobody knows it. The teachers of philosophy and leaders of mysticism or religion do not want to inquire into the truth and have no time for it. (Gita ~Chap ~ IV-v.2)

In Gita Chap.IV where Lord Krishna says:- "This yoga has been lost for ages" the word yoga refers to Gnana yoga, not other yogas: the force of the word this is to point this out.

Lord Krishna describes some of the other yogas but devotes this chapter separately to Gnana Yoga. So one sees even in those ancient days people did not care for Advaita; they wanted religion; hence, Gnana got lost. That is why Krishna calls it "the supreme secret." Krishna points out that the yoga must-see is "Brahman in action."

Gita Chap.IV: "He who achieves perfection in Yoga finds the self in time." This means that after his yoga is finished, he begins the inquiry into ultimate truth, and in due course, this inquiry produces the realization of the universal spirit as the result.

Lord Krishna Says Ch. V:~Those who know the Self in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

Religious path and the yogic path are nothing to do with ultimate truth or Brahman. The scriptures are nothing to do with ultimate truth or Brahman. Gurus, swamis, and yogis are nothing to do with the ultimate truth or Brahman.  The experience of birth, life, death and the world are nothing to do with the ultimate truth or Brahman.  Individual God is nothing to do with ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Karma or Action is nothing to with the ultimate truth of Brahman. Creation and creator is nothing to do with ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth, because the soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the formless, timeless spaceless existence. Brahman means the ultimate truth. The one who has realized the ultimate truth is Brahma Gnani.

Advaitic or nondualistic truth is the rational truth, scientific truth, and ultimate truth.

Eradicating ignorance completely is necessary. And this is possible only through self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.   Thus, there is no other road to freedom other than Gnana.  There is no other entrance other than Gnana.  The ignorance will vanish only when the non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom dawns.

That is why Sage Sankara, indicated in Bhaja Govindam says:~  (Jnana Viheena Sarva Mathena Bajathi na Muktim janma Shatena) ~ one without knowledge does not obtain liberation even in a hundred births, no matter which religious faith he follows.

Then it is no use going a roundabout way, trace the Brahman which is the formless substance and witness of the universe, which is in the form of the mind.  By tracing the source of the mind or universe one will be able to realize the Brahman or God in truth.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is meant only for those who have an intense urge, and courage to accept the truth with humility and reject the untruth. Since people start comparing with their scriptural knowledge, it becomes impossible to assimilate and realize the non-dual truth.   Therefore, there is no need to convince anyone other than our own selves to get the firm conviction.

Sage Sankara:~  56. Neither by yoga, nor by Sankhya, nor by good work, nor by learning, but by the realization of one's identity with Brahman is Liberation possible, and by no other means.

Brih. Upanishad: ~ "Yoga does not yield truth or liberation." ~(page~32)

One who is in Samadhi will not know that this universe is consciousness, therefore yoga is not the means to Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. In Samadhi the yogi knows nothing, sees no universe; so if there be nothing whatever, how can the yogi know that the universe which is something is consciousness? If the universe is not seen in Samadhi than why is the word Atman and Brahman are used?

By shutting his eyes in Samadhi yogi does not know the universe, which confronts him. Hence, the universe can't be known as Brahman through yoga alone. One is in a non-dual condition in sleep or Samadhi, One without a second, true, but he did not know it at the time. You say only in the waking experience afterward. Hence, there must be an inquiry so that you find non-duality whilst you are awake so that you can see nonduality at the time not afterward. Hence, too the need for inquiring into the universe and knowing it as Brahman whilst one is awake, and not during sleep or Samadhi.

When can one say there is no error in his knowledge? When one sees all three states as consciousness, which is the true self; then there will be no doubt. Hence, one must see the beings and objects, if he is to see them as consciousness, the true self. But sleep and Samadhi does not show them to him. Hence, their knowledge is not perfect, not free from error and doubt.

The completion of the course of Yoga, whether Raja or Dhyana leads as Patanjali rightly says in sloka 1 to stopping all ideation. When this is attained, only one thing can then occur--the yogi will enter a condition like sleep.

"Like," because he will have done it by set effort and voluntarily, whereas ordinary man falls into sleep involuntarily and when Patanjali lists sleep as one of the five hindrances, he means that while a practitioner is still struggling and has not yet attained his goal of concentration, naturally to fall asleep prematurely is a sign of failure.

The ignorant emerging from deep sleep does not regard his body and his experience of the world as consciousness, which is the true self,  but he thinks he is an individual separate from the world. Hence, he feels duality as reality, similarly, to the yogi. The one, who does not see duality, can have no Gnana.

A Gnani sees and says all this is an illusion made out of consciousness, which is the true self. Hence, there is unity in diversity, whereas, the yogi who enters Samadhi or sleep has none to start with.

Remember:~

Gnanic Samadhi is Sahaja Samadhi that is the natural state of the self. In natural states in which the Self is in full wakefulness, and then one asks what is meant by this universe, the universe is seen in this Sahaja Samadhi. Whereas Yogic or Nirvikalpa Samadhi is just like swoon or deep sleep, where one is unaware of anything, not even the universe. (See page 640,641 and verse 132,133 of Tattireya Upanishad and panchadeshi regarding this matter).

(Gita –Chap- IV-v.2)

In Gita Chap.IV where Lord Krishna says: ~ "This yoga has been lost for ages" the word yoga refers to Gnana yoga, not other yogas: the force of the word this is to point this out.

All other yogas are based on physicality but  Gnana Yoga is based on the Soul, the Self. So People did not care for Advaita; they wanted religion; hence, Gnana got lost.

Gita Chap.IV:~ "He who achieves perfection in Yoga finds the self in time." This means that after his yoga is finished, he begins the inquiry into ultimate truth, and in due course, this inquiry produces the realization of the universal spirit as the result.

Lord Krishna Says Ch. V:~ “Those who know me in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

Sage Sankara says:~ Yoga is not the means of liberation.

Brihad Upanishad:~ Even yoga cannot give perfect concentration and that the only way to gain it is philosophical realization. This confirms the Manduka Upanishads statement that yoga can no more succeed than the ocean can be emptied with a blade of grass. (p~133~first para)

In Sutra Bashya and Manduka: ~  Samadhi and sleep are identical.

Brihad Upanishad does not advocate Samadhi. People are going down, down, and down.:~Santthosh Kumaar
