The dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. The waking becomes unreal when you realize the ‘Self is not you but the Soul.+

Bhagavad Gita: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the mate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as Brahman (Truth)ani other than consciousness.

Rig Veda:~ Prajnanam Brahma:~Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman(God).

The world in which we exist is nothing but an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Remember:~

Consciousness is existence, one without the second. Everything is consciousness.

The life within a dream is a reality with the dream. The dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. Similarly, the waking becomes unreal when you realize the ‘Self is not you but the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness.

If the waking is unreal then your experience of birth, life, death, and the world within the waking experience also is unreal (illusion).

The question is based on the waking entity (you or ego). Whatever is based on the waking entity (ego) is based on the dualistic perspective.

You have to learn to view the worldview from the non-dualistic perspective then only you will be able to have the Soulcentric view of the worldview.

In Advaitic Self-awareness, the ego is not considered as ego, even though the ego is present, the body is not considered as a body even though the body is present, the world which confronts him is not considered as world even though the world is present, the duality ceases even though the duality is present, because of wisdom, everything is considered as consciousness. Thus there is conscious oneness.

Only in ignorance,  the world in which we are an illusion created out of the Soul, the Self.

The world is both real and unreal. It is real because it is the manifestation of consciousness, but is unreal, in the sense, that it is not absolute and eternal like consciousness itself.

People's approach is more practical, and they stuck with the reality of the world, they take it as real. That is why all the confusion.

Remember:~

The look of an object will depend upon the medium through which the observer views it. In fact, our mental and intellectual conditions determine the world, observed, and experienced. The commoner viewing the world will see differently from a Gnani viewing the same world. Each one interprets the world that they see in terms of their existing knowledge. The commoner sees everything based on the ego, therefore, experiences the birth, life, death, and the world as a reality, whereas a Gnani sees everything as consciousness and he is fully aware of the fact that, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul or consciousness. Thus, all the egocentric knowledge has to be bifurcated to realize the ultimate truth, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space.

The world in which we exist is nothing but an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

The whole universe is nothing but the Soul. Therefore, there is no second thing that exists other than the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

It is not as if something that was not consciousness suddenly becomes consciousness. Rather, "knowing the truth” means the removal of ignorance about one's own existence as consciousness. Thus, to "know the truth” is to "be  consciousness."

Consciousness is ever-present. Without consciousness, the world, in which you exist ceases to exist. Consciousness is Self-evident. It is not established by extraneous proofs. It is not possible to deny consciousness, because it is the very essence of the one who denies it.

Consciousness is the basis of all kinds of knowledge, presuppositions, and proofs. Consciousness is everything. Thus, consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara:~ If you give up the external world in your inquiry, you cannot get the whole truth.+

With a firm foot first, inquire into the nature of the universe that confronts you, do not fly to the Atman, the Self.

Sage Sankara says you must first know what is before you. If you cannot know that, what else can you know or understand? If you give up the external world in your inquiry, you cannot get the whole truth.

The mind rises from the formless Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The sense of ‘I’ rises as the mind. The mind is in the form of the universe. Thus, ‘I’ is the mind or the universe. The universe appears as the waking or dream and disappears as deep sleep.

Holding a sense of ‘I’ limited to the ego is the cause of separation. It makes one feel, he is an individual separate from the world and world that existed prior to him, and he is born inafterwardards. Until one has this conviction, it is very difficult to grasp non-dualdual truth.

Thus, it is necessary to realize the Self is not the ‘I’ but the Self is the witness of the ‘I'.

It is the ‘I’ which is a botheration. the seeker has to first investigate the nature of the ‘I’. Without investigating what is this ‘I’ supposed to be in actuality, the truth of our existence will not be revealed.

As we go deeper in self-search, we become aware of the fact that: ~

The ‘I’ is not limited to an individual because ‘I’ is the mind. The mind is not within the body because the mind is the whole universe.

Thinking the mind is within the body is an error. First, know what is mind. The mind is not within the body. The form, time, and space togetarer is mind. Without form, time, and space the mind ceases to exist. Without the form, time, and space the world in which you exist ceases to exist. Without the world in which you exist the waking ceases to exist. Without waking the ‘I’ ceases to exist.

Thus, a perfect understanding of ‘what is what’ is very much necessary to unfold the mastery of the ‘I’.

The mind is present only when the ‘I’ is present and the mind is absent when the ‘I’ is absent. Thus, it is necessary to accept the ‘I’ as the mind.

The mind is present only when the universe is present therefore it is necessary to accept the mind is the universe.

The universe is present only when the waking is present therefore it is necessary to accept the universe as the whole waking experience.

The waking is a parallel dream and the dream is a parallel waking experience.

The individual experience of birth, life, death, and the world is happening within the waking experience.

As we go much deeper investigation  ‘I’,  we become aware of the fact that: ~

The ‘I’ disappears in deep sleep.

Without the ‘I’ there is no trace of the mind.

Without the mind, there is no trace of the universe.

Without the universe, there is no trace of waking.

Without waking, there is no trace of form, time, and space.

Without form, time, and space there is no trace of the individual experience of birth, life, death, and the world.

Without the individual experience of birth, life and death, and the world it is a formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.

The formless, timeless, and spaceless existence is the nature of the Soul the Self.

The Soul is the Self. When you negate the ‘I’ by Neti / Neti the Soul alone remains as the ultimate truth or Brahman or God.

Ashtavakra Gita: ~ “The universe rises from the Soul, the Self like bubbles from the sea. Thus, know the Self to be One and in this way enter into the state of dissolution."

Sage Sri, Sankara says: ~ Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman (Gnani), followed by reflection, and so forth, but not through perverted arguments.

The seeker should personally strive by using the power of Soul-Centric reasoning to be free from the bondage of the dualistic illusion.

The seeker of truth should be aware of everything that is untrue: the stick to the truth and he shall succeed, maybe slowly, but surely.: ~Santthosh Kumaar

Searching the truth within illusion with the illusory Self, within the illusory world is bound to be an illusion.+

The dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. Similarly,  the waking becomes unreal when Advaitic wisdom dawns. The Advaitic wisdom dawns when you realize that, the Self is not you but the ‘Self is the formless ‘Soul’.

Love, hate, and the universe in which we exist are created out of single stuff.  That single stuff is the Soul, which is present in the form of the Spirit.

Realizing the Spirit as the Self is truth-realization or Self-realization or God-realization.

Love, hate, and the world in which we exist are part of the dualistic illusion or Maya.  The dualistic illusion or Maya has nothing to do with the Self, which is hidden by the illusory form, time, and space.

Within the illusion, we have to love and live in harmony. Love is very much necessary in practical life within the practical world.

It is erroneous to mix practical life and the practical world in the pursuit of truth.  The ups and downs of the practical life within the practical world have nothing to do with the Soul, the Self.

In Self-awareness, nothing disappears on the dawn of Advaitic wisdom, but the unreal nature of the waking is exposed in the midst of the dualistic illusion or Maya.

One sees his body as consciousness, his ego as consciousness, and the world as consciousness. Thus there is a unity in diversity in his understanding. In Self-awareness, the unknown restlessness has disappeared.  Self-awareness brings stillness of the mind in the midst of action or duality.

Thus, searching for the truth within the illusion with the illusory Self, within the illusory world is bound to be an illusion.

The illusion is created and sustained and finally dissolves as the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.  Since there is no second thing other than the Soul or consciousness; consciousness itself is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Advaitin Sage and Maya

The King of the Hoysalas was a dualist and was greatly incensed at the doctrine taught Advaitin sage that everything here below is an illusion. He wanted to teach the exponent of this doctrine a lesson. So he invited the then Advaitin sage to his palace. That Advaitin sage went there and stoutly maintained that everything in this world was an illusion. The king had arranged to let loose an infuriated elephant against, Advaitin sage. The beast rushed at Advaitin sage who took to a precipitate flight to save himself.

'Oh, Venerable Sir,' shouted the king, 'why do you run so fast seeing that the elephant is only an illusion?'

'Oh, king,' said Advaitin sage in the course of his flight, 'my running too is an illusion. Everything in this world is an illusion.’
---
Similarly, the practical life within the practical world is merely an illusion. All our hopes and desires or pleasure and pain are reality within the illusion.

We all are searching for truth within the illusion, not being aware of the fact that the illusion is created out of a single stuff which is the Soul or consciousness.

The Soul is the Self.  When the waking entity realizes it is not the Self in the midst of the waking experience it enters the nondual Self-awareness, which is free from form, time, and space.

A Gnani is fully aware of ‘what is truth’ and ‘what is untruth’. A Gnani e is fully aware that the experiences of pleasure and pain within the waking experience are merely an illusion because the waking experience itself is an illusion.

Thus, life within the waking experience will go on, on its own.  It has nothing to do with the Soul, the Self.  The waking or dream is merely an object to the formless witness. The Soul is the Self.

The Soul is the witness. The Soul the witness has nothing to do with the three states because it is the witness of the coming and going of the three states or illusion.

The ‘Self’ is not the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is not within you.+

The ‘Self’ is not the ‘I’. The ‘I’ is not within you. The ‘I’ is present in the form of the mind. The mind is present in the form of the universe. The universe appears as the waking. The waking is the dualistic illusion or Maya.

The dualistic illusion is an object to the formless subject. The Soul, the innermost ‘Self’ is the subject. The Soul, the subject is present in the form of consciousness. From the standpoint of the Soul, the object is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.
If the Self is not ‘I’ but the Self is the Soul then from the standpoint of the Soul, the Self: ~
Where is the ‘I’?
Where is the ego?

Where is the body?
Where is the mind?
Where is the world in which you exist?
Where is the form, time, and space?

Where is the waking experience?
Where is the duality?
Where is void?

They are or have become one with the Soul which is present in the form of consciousness. Consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman.
The ‘I’ is present only when the mind is present. The mind is present only when the world is present. The world is present only when there is the waking experience.
Deeper self-search reveals the fact that the waking experience is not considered different from the world. The world is not considered different from the mind. The mind is not considered different from the’ I’. This truth has to be assimilated.
The ‘I’ is merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. ‘I’ is not the subject. The ‘I’ is an object to the Soul, which is the formless, timeless, and spaceless subject.
If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the world in which you exist is bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then three states, are bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the form, time, and space are bound to be an illusion.

If I’ is an illusion then the individual experience of birth, life, death is bound to be an illusion.

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the words and thoughts are bound to be an illusion.
If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the duality is bound to be an illusion.
The seeker has to make sure what is this ‘I’ supposed to be? The seeker has to make sure the unreal nature of the ‘I’ which comes and goes.
That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)
The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self, which is present in the form of consciousness.
People think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self, which is eternal.
That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," If you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.
People are stuck with the reality of the ‘I’, which they take as real because some Gurus have propagated the Self is the ‘I’. is no need to convince such mindsets. The seeker of truth accepts only the truth nothing but the truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Anal Haq”: It is not I am God but the Self, the Spirit is God.+

For religious people, it is very difficult to accept anything other than their religious injected truth.

Ashtavakra Gita 16:10: ~ “If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," if you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, You are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers.

People are stuck with the reality of the ‘I’, which they take as real because some Gurus have propagated the Self is the ‘I’. there is no need to convince such a mindset. The seeker of truth accepts only the truth nothing but the truth.

Mansur was beheaded for saying Anal Haq”

Anal Haq”: It is not I am God but the Self, the Spirit is God.

Jesus was crucified because he said “I and my Father are one.

Jesus said: Spirit is my father and "I and my Father are one. ~ If the Spirit is the father then the son is bound to be the Spirit.

Krishna's words were misunderstood as vanity or self-praise.

Krishna said: "Ahum Brahmasmi." ‘Self’ is Brahman ~ that is Atman is Brahman.

Krishna's words were misunderstood as vanity or self-praise.

The doubts come; as long as there is ignorance, there will be doubts. You always work that way, going one way and then another because you think the Self is the ‘I’. Until you hold the ‘I’ as the ‘Self’ you will never be able to realize the spiritual truth (Spirit), which is beyond the form, time, and space.

Beyond, the form, time, and space-  means -  beyond the ignorance.

Beyond, ignorance means beyond the dualistic illusion.

Beyond, the dualistic illusion means the non-dualistic reality.

The non-dualistic or Advaitic reality is the fullness of the consciousness without the division of the form, time, and space.
Until you get a firm conviction of ‘what is truth and what is untruth it is very difficult to assimilate Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana or knowledge of the Spirit or the knowledge of God in truth.

For religious people, it is very difficult to accept anything other than their religious injected truth.

Religious truth is based on blind belief whereas spiritual truth is based on the Spirit the real God.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16
There is nothing that exists prior to consciousness. The ‘I’ cease to exist without consciousness. The Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is the ultimate truth or Brahman.

That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent (consciousness) is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

The ‘I’ hides the Soul, the Self, or consciousness.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).

When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness.

Truth realization or God-realization is not for the religious people who are stuck with their religion.

Until you have the firm conviction of the truth you will not be able to realize God, which is hidden by the illusion. You will realize the truth if you are sincere and serious

The dream becomes unreal when waking takes place. The waking experience becomes unreal when wisdom dawns. The wisdom dawns only when one investigates and realizes “What is mind?” and “What is the substance of the mind” and what is the Source of the mind?

In reality, the mind, its substance, and its source are one in essence. That essence is consciousness. The knowledge this essence is Self ~knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

Self ~knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana does not consist in the mastery of scriptural knowledge or intellectual speculation or logical conclusions. , but in the realization of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. The Soul, the Self, is neither the waking entity (ego 0r you) nor the dream entity. Without this Self-Knowledge, it is futile to try to know the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.

Human knowledge of an object is clouded by the ignorance that shrouds the Soul, the Self.

Self-Knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the unifying force that brings unity in diversity. All egocentric knowledge is reduced to mere conjecture and, therefore, it is arbitrary. Self ~ knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana is the knowledge of our true existence, which is beyond form, time, and space. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

By sticking to Gurus and yogis the ignorance will not vanish but ignorance becomes more and more deep rooted.+

Swami Vivekananda: ~ Advaita encompasses everything. Since Advaita requires heavy-duty intellectualism, it had to be progressively simplified.
The seeker has to grow from the inside out. None can teach or none can make one spiritual.  There is no other Guru other than Soul. the Self”
The Soul, the inner Guru reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready.
There is no need to condemn Gurus and yogis but the seeker of truth must know their falsity for his own information and how they become a hindrance in the path of wisdom.
By condemning Gurus and yogis, the ignorance will not vanish but one will be able to get rid of the ignorance by removing all the blockade which is blocking the realization of truth.
By sticking to Gurus and yogis the ignorance will not vanish but ignorance becomes more and more deep-rooted. There is no need for grace and blessings of the physical Guru because you and your physical Guru belong to the dualistic illusion. Thus, all the grace and blessings of the physical Guru are illusory.
If you stick to your physical guru and get emotionally and sentimentally get involved with the physical Guru and keep glorifying and worship the physical Guru you are unfit to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.
Yogis and Gurus are not Gods.
This idea of worshiping Guru as God is not a Vedic idea but adopted from Jainism and Buddhism.
Vedas bars human worship: ~
Yajur Veda:~"They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, But those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time. ":~ (Yajur Veda 40:9.)
Then why worship and glorify the Gurus and Yogis (human form) in place of God when Veda bars such activities and it also warns people who indulge in such activities are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.
The one who identifies himself as a Guru, yogi, or some Gurus direct disciple does not belong to the path of Advaita or Atmic path.
If you are seeking truth, nothing but the truth then it is your bondage, that you are stuck to some Guru or yogi. If you are seeking truth then you have to be free from the Gurudom. Gurudom is meant for the ignorant populace who are not seeking truth but some peace and comfort in their practical life.
Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him and only those like him understand his state.
The truth-seeker seeks only truth. The inner Sage will guide the seeker as his understanding of Advaita matures. Your sincerity and seriousness lead you to your inner core. Sincere and serious seekers are not excluded.
Sage  Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)
Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing it for the sake of bread belongs to the religion; they are nothing to do with the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of ignorant masses in the dualistic world.
Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)
~ Then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.
That is why Swami Vivekananda said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”
By worshipping the religious Gods and Gurus one will not get Self-realization or God-realization.
The Soul, the inner Guru reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

It is no use arguing Bhagavan Buddha is wrong or Sage Sankara is right, but where we are going wrong in our understanding propagated by the great Sages of the past.+

It is no use arguing Bhagavan Buddha is wrong or Sage Sankara is right, but where we are going wrong in our understanding of the non-dualistic or Advaitic truth, propagated by the great Sages of the past. Some say, that without the sunyavada, Advaita philosophy could not have come into existence because Advaita starts from where sunyavada ends. That is why they say it is an extension of Buddhism. If Advaita existed prior to Bhagavan Buddha, he would not have advocated sunyavada at all because Advaita is the final and ultimate truth.
Since the Buddhist and the Vedic scriptures have been passed down by hearing, they were written down only relatively late, so one wouldn't know whether to rely on the times they give. Also, a lot depends on the translation. Each 'Sloka' or sutta is open to many layers of interpretation.
Sage Sankara said:~ Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.
Sage Sankara himself had often said that his philosophy was based on Sruti, or revealed scripture. This may be because Sage Sankara addressed the ordinary man, who finds security in the idea of causality and thus in the idea of God—and Revelation is indispensable to prove the latter. He believed that those of superior intelligence, have no need for this idea of divine causality, and can, therefore, dispense with Sruti and arrive at the truth of Non-Dualism by pure reason.
Sage Sankara’s Supreme Brahman is Nirguna (without the Gunas), Nirakara (formless), Nirvisesha (without attributes), and Akarta (non-agent). He is above all needs and desires.
Sage Sankara says:~ "This Atman is self-evident. This Atman or Self is not established by proofs of the existence of the Self. It is not possible to deny this Atman, for it is the very essence of he who denies it. Atman is the basis of all kinds of knowledge. The Self is within, the Self is without, the Self is before and the Self is behind. The Self is on the right hand, the Self is on the left, the Self is above and the Self is below".
Satyam-Jnanam-Anantam-, are not separate attributes. They form the very essence of Brahman. Brahman cannot be described because the description implies a distinction. Brahman cannot be distinguished from any other than He.
The objective world-the world of names and forms has no independent existence. The Atman alone has real existence. The world is only phenomenal.
Sage Sankara was the exponent of Advaita wisdom. Sage Sankara's Advaitic wisdom can be summed up in the following words:~
Brahma Satyam Jagat Mithya,
Jeevo Brahmaiva Na Aparah
Brahman alone is real, this world is unreal; the Jiva is identical to Brahman.
As one indulges in deeper self-search he becomes aware: - As per the religious archaeologists' view: the date of Sage Sri, Sankara may be taken most correctly as that of the 9th century. Some claims are made in India that he lived two thousand years ago, but there is absolutely no proof for this claim. They do not go back farther than the 12th century A.D. and that all so-called evidence for Sage Sri Sankara having lived two centuries before Christ is either were conjectures or orthodox fabrication.
Regarding the question of Sage Sankara's death, one may dismiss the legend that he did not die, at the age of 32, but disappeared into a cave. This is another orthodox story that is quite unfounded. He did really die in the Himalayas at that age.
As one goes into the annals of history, one becomes aware of the fact that; the spiritual Advaita is mixed up with punditry. Therefore, there is a need to do his own research to know the true essence of Advaita propounded by Sage Sankara, and Sage Gudapada, and the emptiness of the Bhagavan Buddha.
How Sage Sankara could have written so many books during such a short term of existence. The fact is that he wrote very few books. Those actually written by him were Commentaries on Brahma Sutras and the Upanishads and on the Gita. All other books ascribed to him were not written down by his own hand.
Sage Sankara wrote his Manduka commentary first, and then as this revealed that he thoroughly understood the subject, his gurus requested him to write the commentary on Badarayana's Brahma Sutras, which was a popular theological work universally studied throughout India. That is why his commentary is written from a lower dualistic point, for those who cannot rise higher, save that here and there Sage Sankara occasionally has strewn a few truly Advaitic sentences.
Sage Sankara had only four fully trained disciples, although he advised some kings. His doctrines spread after his lifetime. Sage Sankara’s books were dictated to secretaries as he traveled, therefore, only a few were capable of understanding his philosophy.
Nearly all orthodox hold views of Maya which are entirely incorrect and untenable. They do not know Sage  Sankara's Upanishad Bashyas, but only the Brahma Sutra Bashya.
Sage Sankara varied his practical advice and doctrinal teaching according to the people he was amongst. He never told them to give their particular religion or beliefs or metaphysics completely; he only told them to give up the worst features of abuse: at the same time, he showed just one step forward towards the truth.
In Brahma Sutras, Sage Sankara says that Brahman is the cause of the world, whereas in Manduka he denies it. This is because he says that at the lower stage of understanding, the former teaching must be given, for people will get frightened as they cannot understand how the world can be without a cause, but to those in a higher stage, the truth of non-causality can be revealed.
Brahma Sutras, i.e. "Vedanta Sutras" by Badarayana, are intended for those of middling intellects, not for those who have the best brains: it is a semi-theological, semi-philosophical work; it starts with the assumption that Brahman exists.
The opening sentence is "All this is Brahman." But nobody knows or has seen Brahman.
If one says "All this is gold" and shows a piece of gold, the words are understandable. Suppose one has never seen gold. Then what is the use it becomes meaningless when the object indicated is seen by none.
Hence, the Brahma Sutra opening is equivalent to "All this is Brahman". Both have no meaning so long as they are not understood if we take them as the data to start from. It is for this reason, the Brahma Sutra is intended for theological mindsets because it begins with dogma although its reasoning is close. For it starts with something imagined.
Critics who declare Sage Sankara's Advaitic wisdom as negative (because of his Neti, Neti) do not know that this is applied only to the witnessed (three states), the critic ignorantly believes that it is also applied to the formless witness (soul). The seeker should never negate the formless witness, only witnessed.
Scriptural mastery is not wisdom:~
That is why Mundaka Upanishad:~ This Atman cannot be attained through the study of the Vedas, nor through intelligence, nor through much learning. He who chooses Atman—by him alone is Atman attained. It is the Atman that reveals to the seeker Its true nature. (3 page-70- Mundaka Upanishad. Upanishads by Nikilanada)
The Veda serves only at the starting point. What one has to learn from Veda must be understood through the exercise of reason, as far as reason might go. And what one has understood must be realized in one’s life.
It is not that one should pore over the ancient scriptures. There is no need to study first then realize. One has to realize first then only he will know ‘what is truth’ and ‘what is untruth’.
There are hundreds of commentaries on the Bhagavad Gita. Each one goes on spinning yarns imagining as he likes what the meaning may be. But once one acquires Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana he will know what they really meant, he will see that there is only one possible interpretation, irrespective of his opinion or imagination.
A permanent view of the world as unreal can come only after soul-centric reasoning; such knowledge cannot change. Were the seeker is sufficiently sharpness he could grasp the unreal nature of the world by soul-centric reasoning alone. To know the whole truth, one must know the whole universe, otherwise, he gets only half-truth.
According to Advaita Vedanta, the Veda addresses itself to two kinds of audiences - the ordinary ones who desire the transitory heaven and other pleasures obtained as a result of ritual sacrifices, and the most advanced seeker who seeks to know Brahman. Thus, the Purva mimam. sa, with its emphasis on the karma kanda of the Vedas, is meant for the first audience, to help lead its followers along the way. However, the Vedanta, with its emphasis on the jnana kanda, is meant for those who wish to go beyond such transient pleasures.
As one goes deeper into the subject one becomes aware of the fact that the religion, scriptures, and concept of God is nothing to do with the religious side of Advaita, the present religious-based Advaitic knowledge and theories are meant for the ignorant mass, who hold the religion as high, not the ultimate truth because religion is based on the form (waking entity) and they view and judge and argue on the base of the waking entity(ego) as the Self, but Gnanic Advaita is based on the formless (Soul) and it negates everything other than the formless Soul, the Self.
All the conceptual divisions were invented by different philosophers by their excessive analysis.  all these concepts are never-ending.  they create more confusion and then they try to explain in their own way. Fortunate is the seeker who does not lose himself in the labyrinths of philosophies.
Ignorance is the cause of experiencing the duality (universe or waking) as reality. Thus, eradicating ignorance completely is necessary. And this is possible only through self-knowledge. Thus, there is no other road to freedom other than Gnana. There is no other entrance other than Gnana. The ignorance will vanish only when the nondual wisdom dawns. Detachment to attachment is impossible without wisdom. Only when one realizes the fact that the 'Self' is not the form but the 'Self' is formless, then only it is possible to detach the ‘Self’ from the false attachment.
That is Sage Sankara, in Bhaja Govindam says:~ [Jnana Viheena Sarva Mathena Bajathi na Muktim janma Shatena] - One without knowledge does not obtain liberation even in a hundred births, no matter which religious faith he follows.
Thus, it proves that wisdom is universal irrespective of any religion of faith one belongs to. Thus, religion is not a means to Self-knowledge. Thus, Sage Sankara’s Advaita minus orthodoxy is true Advaita. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
