He who thinks God is one and the Soul is another can never be able to realize the nondualistic or Advaitic truth.+

No religious God can exist, apart from consciousness.  Religious people think God is somewhere, up there, monitoring every act of the people, guiding the lost, and uplifting the poor. God is the one who punishes the evil and rewards the benevolent.

There is nothing so absurd which men have not worshiped in religion, every imaginable face has been given to God.  If God is the creator then it is foolish to worship anything as God from his creation because the creation is apart from God.

All religions are sacred for the believers all the religious Gods are real for the believers. All the scriptures are sacred for the followers of the religion. For the followers of the religion,   the religious code of conduct and religion is very important.

Religion and religious God are true in the hearts of all those who believe in them. What other kinds of truth are there? In the past, the church has been harsh on those deemed morally wrong or sinful. Today, we no longer judge. Like a loving fathers, we never condemn our children. Our church is big enough for heterosexuals and homosexuals, for the pro-life and the pro-choice! For conservatives and liberals, even communists are welcome and have joined us. We all love and worship the same God.”

Gods and Goddesses are based on blind belief not God in truth.  God is universal. God in truth does not belong to any particular religion.    Every religion has its own God but religious Gods are based on belief.
Some people even claim of seeing them in stone idols or some conceptual belief, in inanimate or living things. Is it our faith that makes us believe that there is some supreme power above us or is it a reality, that can never be answered?  Until this conviction is there one is in the grip of ignorance.

Due to ignorance, the dualistic illusion (the world in which we exist) is experienced as a reality.  Therefore, there is a need to verify the fact that, the Self is not you but it is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Even Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material (Gita 14.27)

If God is a formless Spirit, then how does man know God created the world? There is no proof. If the man had seen God creating the world, he could admit it, but how could he have seen God before he came into existence? (i.e. were created).

He who thinks God is one and the Soul is another can never be able to realize the non-dualistic or Advaitic truth.

It is not the man, who has to be free, but it is the Soul, the  'Self' has to be free by realizing it is not the man perceiving the world.

People want to get freedom but freedom comes only when the Soul wakes up without the illusory body and the illusory world (duality).  It is the Soul, the innermost ‘Self’ is in the cage of illusion. It is the Soul that wants to get out of the illusion because the illusion and the reality are one in essence. That essence is the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Thus, all that man experiences within the dualistic illusion of practical life within the practical world and seeing the vision, speaking to God, seeing God are a reality within the dualistic illusion.

From the Nondualistic perspective, there is no second thing that exists other than consciousness (spirit). Thus consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God. From the standpoint of Brahman or God, everything is Brahman or God.

Sage Gaudapada quotes from the Upanishads: ~"There's no plurality here"; "The Soul through its powers appears to be many"; "those who are attached to creation or production or origination go to utter darkness"; "the unborn is never reborn, for what can produce it?”

People are not aware of the fact that there is no individual God that can exist, apart from the Soul, which is in the form of consciousness. Thus, the Soul is the true Self.   If there is no Soul, then there is no physical body, no ego, no universe, no religion, and no conceptual God.

People think that there must be a creator of this universe. if one thinks physical entity or the ego as self, then there is a creator, but if one thinks of the Soul as the Self, then there is nothing that exists other than the  Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.
If one objectifies and sees a universe, then he is bound to see many things besides himself and postulate a God, the creator. The body, the idea of God, and the world rise and set together from, and into, the Soul, the ‘Self’. If God is apart from the ‘Self ‘, then he would be selfless, that is, outside existence, that is, non-existent. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Gurus who propagate Samadhi through sexual intercourse are not Gnani’s. Sexual intercourse is nothing to do with the Soul, the 'Self'.+

Gurus who propagate Samadhi through sexual intercourse are not Gnani’s. Sexual intercourse is nothing to do with the Soul, which is ever formless, timeless, and spaceless existence.   Those who indulge in sexual activities in order to get enlightenment will permanently remain in the prison of the dualistic illusion.  They are unfit to acquire Self-knowledge.

Brih Upanishad: page 32:~ "Yoga does not yield truth or liberation."

One who is in Samadhi will not know that this universe as the consciousness; therefore yoga is not the means to Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.

In Samadhi the yogi knows nothing, sees no universe; so if there is nothing but blankness. The blankness is not the Advaitic wisdom.

The yogi does not know the nature of the universe. If the universe is not seen in the Samadhi then there is no need to use the word Atman and Brahman.  The yogi is unaware of the truth, which is beyond the form, time and space.

By shutting his eyes in Samadhi, the yogi does not know the universe, which confronts him. Hence the universe can't be known as the Soul or the consciousness through yoga.

One is in a non-dual condition in deep sleep or Samadhi, One without a second, true, but he did not know it at the time. He says only in the waking experience afterward. Hence, there must be an inquiry so that you find non-duality whilst you are awake so that you can see nonduality at the time not afterward. Hence, too the need for inquiring into the nature of the universe and knowing it as the Soul or the consciousness whilst one is awake, and not during sleep or Samadhi.

Advaitic truth is the ultimate truth.  Yogis, mystics, and religious teachers do not accept the path of wisdom because it pries into the truth, the source and the validity of the knowledge they claim. Therefore, it is the most difficult part of the study of Advaita.

Gnani does not want to think of the ego, therefore he does not do or say anything to make himself appear superior to others, or to pretend to know more than others.  If a person spends his time in Samadhi, he is not a Gnani, but he is only a yogi. The Gnani is as alert and awake to what is happening to him externally as all other people: he is not a yogi in Samadhi. A yogi does not know the ultimate truth or Brahman because he believes his Samadhi as Brahman. The Gnani has realized the world in which he exists is merely an illusion created out of consciousness.  And consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman

A Gnani imparts Knowledge to others. A Yogi lies in Samadhi like a wooden log so he does not know yogic Samadhi is not wisdom.  Gnani is fully aware of the about all things, either permanent or perishable and he has realized both permanent and perishable to be consciousness.  Thus, the consciousness alone is real and eternal all else is merely an illusion. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

The seeker must know the difference between the Guru and a Gnani.+

The seeker must know the difference between the Guru and a Gnani.  A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru or a Yogi or someone disciple.  The one who accepts himself as a Guru or someone’s disciple is not a Gnani.

A Gnani wears no signs it means he does not identify himself as Guru or teacher or swami.

Sage Sankara: ~ On Gnani: "The knower of Brahman wears no signs. Gives up the insignia of a monk's life…his signs are not manifest, nor his behavior."

When the knower of Brahman (Gnani) wears no signs it means he does not identify himself as a Guru or a yogi or a teacher or a Swami.

By identifying as a Guru or some Guru’s disciple keeps one in the cage of the ignorance.  A person who identifies himself as a guru or disciple will never be able to get Advaitic Gnana.
Guru and disciple concept is meant for the religious and yogic path.  In the Atmic path, the Guru and disciple concepts have no value.
A person who realized the ultimate truth or Brahman will throw off his religious robe and all religious identity and lives like a commoner. He never identifies himself as Gnani nor does he identify himself superior to others. He only shares his knowledge with fellow seekers.
A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru or a Yogi or someone disciple.  The one who accepts himself as a Guru or someone’s disciple is not a Gnani.

Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him and only those like him understand his state.

A Gnani never claims himself as a Gnani, he guides the seekers, not posing himself as a Guru, and he does not force his wisdom on others.

A Gnani can point at the sky, but the seeing of the star is the seeker's own work. The one who he realizes Brahman becomes a Gnani.  A Gnani would be there to show the way to freedom from experiencing the duality as reality. A Gnani does not identify himself as Guru or swami or yogi or sadhu.

The truth-seeker seeks only truth. The inner Sage will guide you with love. Your sincerity and seriousness lead you to your inner core.  Sincere and serious seekers are not excluded.

Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani)

~ Then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.

That is why Swami Vivekananda who was a disciple of Sage Ramakrishna Paramahansa himself said: ~   “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”

Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sri, Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)

Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing it for the sake of bread belongs to the religion; they are nothing to do with the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of ignorant masses in the dualistic world.
Katha Upanishads: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. ( II -23-P-20)
All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality.  All the seekers of truth are chosen ones.  All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality.  All the seekers of truth are chosen ones. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Self-realization itself is God-realization.+

Self-realization itself is God-realization: ~
In Vedas, God has been described as: ~
v Sakshi (Witness)
v Chetan (conscious)
v Nirguna (Without form and properties).

v Nitya (eternal)

v Shuddha (pure)

v Buddha (omniscient)

v Mukta (unattached).

The nature of the Atman (Soul) is: ~
v Witness

v Conscious

v Without form and properties

v Eternal

v Pure

v Omniscient

v Unattached

Rig Veda: ~ 'Prajnanam Brahma'- Consciousness is the ultimate reality or Brahman or God in truth.

Do not accept any other God other than the Soul. The Soul is God in truth,  Nothing is real but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness. Nothing matters but realize  God in truth. God in truth is everywhere and in everything. Let these words be inscribed in your subconscious.

God in truth is hidden by the illusory universe. God in truth alone is real and eternal and all else is an illusion.

Brahman is merely a word to indicate the ultimate truth or God in truth.  The ultimate truth itself is God in truth.

Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)

Yajurveda – chapter- 32:~  God is Supreme Spirit has no ‘Pratima’ (idol) or material shape. God cannot be seen directly by anyone. God pervades all beings and all directions. Thus, Idolatry does not find any support from the Vedas.

Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God in truth) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

In Advaita Vedanta: ~Brahman is without attributes and strictly impersonal. It can be best described as infinite Being, infinite Consciousness.

Bhagavad Gita: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material (Gita 14.27)

Upanishads say in effect that ~ If you believe that the Soul is one and God (Brahman) is another you cannot understand Truth.

Brihad Upanishad: ~ “If you think there is another entity, whether man or God there is no truth."

Lord Krishna says Ch~ V:~ “Those who know me in truth.". The last two words (tattvataha) are usually ignored by pundits, but they make all the difference between the ordinary concept of God and the truth about God.

Rig-Veda 1-164-46 and Y.V 32-1 clearly mention that God is “One”.

Thus, all the scriptures refer to a formless and attributeless God, which is the Atman (Soul), the Self. It indicates clearly all the Gods with form and attributes are mere imagination based on the false Self. Thus Atman or Soul, the innermost Self, is God. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Only when one is able to observe Meher Baba’s spiritual insights from nondualistic perspective Meher Baba’s hidden spiritual treasure will reveal on its own.+

Jesus said: ~ “If thine eye be single, thy body will be full of light".

~ Jesus meant - if you see from the eye of the Spirit (single) everything is nothing but the Spirit (light), God.

~ The simple meaning if you see everything from God's eye, everything is nothing but the God, the Spirit.
*****
Only when one is able to observe Meher Baba’s spiritual insights from the nondualistic perspective Meher Baba’s hidden spiritual treasure will reveal on its own.

Meher Baba says:~    UNLESS AND UNTIL ignorance is removed and Knowledge is gained . . . the Knowledge whereby the Divine Life is experienced and lived . . . everything pertaining to the spiritual seems paradoxical . . . GOD, whom we do not see, we say is real; and the world, which we do see, we say is false. In experience, what exists for us does not really exist; and what does not exist for us, really exists.

Meher Baba said: - To love God as he ought to be loved, we must live for God and die for God, knowing that the goal of life is to know God and find him as our own Self.

To realize God is to attain liberation from the bondage of illusion.
Live only to find and realize your true identity with your Beloved God.

The energy which is expended in mere thinking, talking or writing is like steam which escapes through the whistle of the railway engine …

That is why the sages have always insisted on practice rather than theory. This applies particularly to those who want to know and realize God.
----
Meher Baba said: ~ God is your innermost Self. Do not search for God outside of you. Let these words be inscribed in your heart. Nothing is real but God. Nothing Matters but love for God. God is everywhere and does everything. God is beyond us and is everything. God alone is and all else is an illusion.

When Meher Baba says the God is your innermost self and God alone is real all else is an illusion. It means the God, the Self alone is real and all else an illusion.  The illusion is the world in which we exist.

Meher Baba says GOD, whom we do not see, we say is real; and the world, which we do see, we say is false. In experience, what exists for us does not really exist; and what does not exist for us, really exists

Meher Baba: ~ "There is no higher or lower goal. There is only one goal, Self-Realization."

Meher Baba: ~ “When religion has become merely a matter of external rituals and ceremonies, it has become a cage for the Soul.

Meher Baba: ~ “It is absolutely essential for the spiritual aspirant who genuinely longs for union with God, the reality to shun the false practice of yogic posture and exercise, the meditation on other than the God the beloved
Meher Baba: ~It takes time for the runner to gain speed; it takes time for the sleeper to awake, and it takes ages for one who has been spiritually asleep to be spiritually awakened."
Meher Baba: ~ The scriptures are like rotten bones rotted and are as food for worms.

Theosophy and philosophy are like good bones rotted and are as food for vultures.

The writings of inspired poets are like fresh bones and are as food for dogs.

The writings of spiritually advanced saints are like flesh and are as food for tigers.

The writings by living Perfect Masters are like brain and are as food for men!

Good bones when rotted have some semblance of bone, but rotten bones when rotted are like filth.

So, you may go through the scriptures superficially — only to drive away the barking dogs when necessary; for instance, when you are called upon to answer the queries of the priests and the orthodox. [Lord Meher 15: 5267]

Meher Baba: ~ “When the reality appears this ignorance which one thinks as reality becomes unreal.

Meher Baba: ~It takes time for the runner to gain speed; it takes time for the sleeper to awake, and it takes ages for one who has been spiritually asleep to be spiritually awakened."

Meher Baba: ~ “It is absolutely essential for the spiritual aspirant who genuinely longs for union with God, the reality to shun the false practice of yogic posture and exercise, the meditation on other than the God the beloved. (Letters from Mandali of Meher Baba P-98-100)

Meher Baba:~ Spirituality does not need renunciation of worldly activities. It means the internal renunciation of mundane desires. Mere asceticism does not lead to spirituality. The Infinite embraces all expressions of life.- Jai Baba

The universe (mind) is unreal means it has no separate, independent existence.+

The universe (mind) is unreal means it has no separate, independent existence.  It cannot exist just by itself.  It has inter-be with consciousness which, is the true Self.   The universe (I)  is merely an illusion that appears as a waking or dream (duality) and disappears and deep sleep (Nonduality). The one formless knower (witness) of the appearance and disappearance of these dual and nondual experiences is real and eternal.

Thus, the three states are unreal from the standpoint of the real, which is formless consciousness. Thus, it is necessary to learn to view the three states from the ultimate point of view, not from the standpoint of the waking entity, which is the false Self.

Sage Sankara says the world is illusory; it includes birth, life, and death, which happens within the world.  Thus, seekers, the main aim is to mentally trace the formless substance of the illusion, which is also the witness of the illusion.

The formless substance and witness of the illusion (world) are the Ataman, and this Ataman itself is Brahman.  This Brahman cannot be attained by indulging in egocentric religious orthodoxies. The knower of Brahman is Brahmin, not the Brahmin who indulges in priestcraft, which leads one to utter darkness as per Yajur Veda.

The seeker has to look deeply into the three states and discover that none of the three states can be independent; they are dependent on consciousness, which is the true Self.   So, all three states are of consciousness alone.  Thus, the universe is consciousness because it is created out of consciousness.

Consciousness is the universe because the universe has no separate existence apart from the universe. Thus, consciousness pervades everything and everywhere in the universe, which is in the form of illusion.

The mind is a myth from the ultimate standpoint.   Thus the universe in which birth, life, and death take place is also a myth because it takes place within the mirage.   Thus it is erroneous to spin a yarn of imagination about Nonduality on the base of the waking entity, which is the false Self.  Therefore, the true Self has to be traced and realized to understand and assimilate the non-dual truth.

To realize the ultimate Truth or Brahman demands deeper thinking and rezoning. For those who require mental spoon feeding, for them, it is difficult to grasp. It is only possible to finger point to reality and indicate the direction. It is not possible to make one realize the truth; it is for the seeker to verify on his own -through, deeper inquiry, analysis, and reasoning and realize it.

The seekers who will approach with receptiveness as they should be approached may conceivably pause at any time and say, these pointers are helping them to think on their own and assimilate the Self- knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana and understanding in a proper and perfect way.
Yoga Vasistha:~ "Teachers, interpretations of sacred texts, the force of religious merit--none of these lead to the realization of that Ultimate Truth which is revealed in the clear reflection of the heart, engendered from contact with the good."
Sage Sankara: ~ VC Let erudite scholars quote all the Scripture, let Gods be invoked through sacrifices, let elaborate rituals be performed, let personal Gods be propitiated---yet, without the realization of one‘s identity with the Self, there shall be no liberation for the individual, not even in the lifetimes of a hundred Brahmas put together (verses-6)
Sage Sankara said:~  Talk as much philosophy as you like, worship as many Gods as you please, observe ceremonies, and sing devotional hymns, but liberation will never come, even after a hundred aeons, without realizing the Oneness.

Only through the path of reason, one can reach the nondual destination without any teaching or teacher.  Accepting oneself as someone’s guru or someone’s disciple and following someone’s teaching without verification is the greatest obstacle in the pursuit of truth.

The non-dualistic truth is the universal truth, it belongs to the whole of humanity and it is not a commodity, which can be bought from the market.

A permanent view of the world as unreal can come only after Soul-centric reasoning; such knowledge cannot change. Where the seeker sufficiently sharpness he could grasp the unreal nature of the world by Soul-centric reasoning alone?

To know the whole truth, one must know the whole universe, otherwise, he gets only a half-truth.

The Non-dualistic or Advaitic truth is the uncontradictable truth, it cannot be attained by discussing and arguing on the base of some teachings or so Guru.

Sage Sankara says in Aparoksh Anubhuti:-

 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

  89. O enlightened one; pass your time always contemplating on Atman while you are experiencing all the results of Prarabdha; for it ill becomes you to feel distressed.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana does not need the support of any scripture or revelation like the Veda. Ultimate truth is based, not upon the varying theological fancies, which are as numerous as the sands of the sea, but upon reason, the common heritage of all mankind, irrespective of color or creed or clime.

The  Essence of scriptures: ~DEHUM-NAHUM- KOHUM – SOHUM— which indicates the body is not the Self, the Self is that which is without the body. Thus,  one can conclude, if the body is not the Self then the body-based religion and theories, beliefs, practices rituals, and yoga are of no use in pursuit of truth.

Therefore, a deeper Self- search is necessary to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Meher Baba’s enlightenment.+

Osho on Meher Baba’s enlightenment:~

FOR Meher Baba it happened like that. For one year he was just in a coma. He couldn’t even move his limbs. Action was far off, he couldn’t stand up because even the desire to stand had gone.  He couldn’t eat; he had to be forced. He couldn’t do anything! For one year continuously he became just helpless – a helpless child.

This was a pregnancy period, and then, suddenly, a different man was born. The man who became inactive was no more: new energy – energy accumulated.

Lives and lives of dissipated energy create this gap – because you do not have enough energy. When the desire is not there to invoke, provoke, or stimulate, you just drop. Your energy is not really energy but just pushing and pulling. Anyhow, you go on running because the goal seems just nearby. A few moments’ endeavor more and you will reach!

If you can be patient in this inactivity period after it you will be reborn. Then energy will begin to move without desires. But I say it depends. It may happen suddenly as it happened for Meher Baba: that was a sudden case. It happened in Bombay.

It happened by a kiss from an old lady, Babajan. Meher Baba was just passing, coming back from his school. Babajan was an old Sufi mystic, an old lady who was just sitting under a tree for years and years and years. Meher Baba was just coming, and Babajan called him. He knew this old lady. She was sitting for years under the tree, and he had passed by that street daily on his way towards his school and his home. She called and he came near. She kissed him – and he dropped as if dead just there. Then he had to be carried home.

For one year continuously the kiss remained on him and he was in a coma. It may happen suddenly like this. Mm? This was a great transfer, and Babajan died afterward because she had just been waiting for this moment to give someone her whole energy. This was her last life, and there was not enough time even to explain what she was giving. And also, she was not the type to have explained. She was a silent mystic.

She had not touched anybody for years. She was only waiting for this moment when she was to kiss someone and the whole energy was to be transferred in a single transfer. Before this, she had not even touched anyone, so this touch was to be total. And this child was simply unaware of what was going to happen. He was ready – otherwise, this transfer would not have been possible – but he was not aware. He had worked through his past lives. He was just coming up. He might have become aware later on, but just now he was completely unaware.

This happened so suddenly that he had to go again through a second pregnancy. For one year he was as if not. Many medicines were given; many, many doctors and physicians tried to help, but nothing could be done. And the woman who could do something, she disappeared, she died. After one year he was a different man – totally different. If it happens so suddenly, then it will be a deep coma. If it happens through some exercises, then it will never be so deep a coma. If you are doing awareness exercises, and meditation, then it will never happen so suddenly.

It will come so gradually, so gradually, that you will never even become aware of when it has happened. By and by, inactivity will be there, activity will be there, and very gradually inside everything will have changed. And the desire will drop, the activity will drop, but no one will ever feel that you have been lethargic or that you have become inactive. This is a gradual process.
