Realization of the Soul as God is the ultimate realization.+


The Soul is everything because whatever exists as the universe is created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

Humanity has to awaken itself to the reality of its true existence.  Humanity is a reality within the dualistic illusion. The Soul, the Self is the Ancient One. The Soul is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.   The Soul has to wake up from its sleep of ignorance. Ignorance is the cause of experiencing the unreal universe as a reality. 

The universe is in the ‘I’ because the ‘I’ itself is the universe. Do not try to find the truth in the next world because the truth is hidden by the ‘I’.

Find out what is this ‘I’ suppose to be in actuality.

That is why Bhagvad Gita: ~ “You must first see the ‘I’ as illusory before you see others as illusory. ~ CH.2 v.16

The Soul does not change; all the changes are merely an illusion created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.

As you go deeper into self-search you will realize the fact that ‘I’ itself is an illusion.

The ‘I’ appears and disappears but the Soul, the witness of the ‘I’ witnesses the coming and going, of the ‘I’.

That is why Bhagavad Gita: ~ The permanent is always there, only the transient ‘I’ comes and goes. (2.18)

The ‘I’ hides Soul, the Self, which is the cause of the 'I', 

People think the ‘I’ without the body is the Self. The seeker has to understand the fact that ‘I’ is not the Self, but the witness of the ‘I’ is the true Self, which is eternal. 

That is why Ashtavakra Gita 16:10:~ If you desire liberation, but you still say "I," if you feel the ‘Self’ is the ‘I’, you are not a wise man or a seeker. You are simply a man who suffers. 

People are stuck with the reality of the ‘I’, which they take 'I' as real because some Gurus have propagated the Self is the ‘I’. is no need to convince such mindsets. The seeker of truth accepts only the truth nothing but the truth. 

If the ‘I’ is an illusion then the mind is bound to be an illusion.

 If the ‘mind’ is an illusion then the form, time, and space are bound to be an illusion.

If form, time, and space are an illusion then the universe is bound to be an illusion.

If the universe is bound to be an illusion then waking is bound to be an illusion.

If the waking is bound to be an illusion then the experiencing of the birth, life, death which happens within the universe is bound to be an illusion. 

The illusion is created out of the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness, is real and eternal.

 The consciousness is the ultimate truth or Brahman or God in truth.
Even The Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Brahmano hi pratisthaham ~ Brahman (God) is considered the all-pervading consciousness, which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material. (14.27).
When Bhagavad Gita says, God is considered the all-pervading consciousness which is the basis of all the animate and inanimate entities and material then nothing has to be accepted as God other than consciousness. 
Even Brihadaranyaka Upanishad: ~ Brahman (God) is present in the form of the Athma, and it is indeed Athma itself.

Even Rig Veda: ~ The Atman is the cause; Atman is the support of all that exists in this universe. May ye never turn away from the Atman, the Self. May ye never accept another God in place of the Atman nor worship other than the Atman?" (10:48, 5)
The world in which you exist is a dualistic illusion created out of the ‘Self’ which is not you but the Soul, which is present in the form of consciousness.   

Whatever you have seen, known, believed, and experienced is within the dualistic illusion.   Thus, your existence is bound to an illusion created out of consciousness, which is real and eternal.

Like an ornament made from gold is Gold, which is born out of consciousness is consciousness. Like gold is the permanent thing, in ornaments made of gold, similarly, the mind, which is in the form of the universe is born out of consciousness, is consciousness in its essence. The realization of the Soul as God is the ultimate realization.:~Santthosh Kumaar 

Bhagvan Buddha kept silent, refusing to answer questions on the ultimate. Therefore, he was the wisest man in refusing to commit himself.+


Thoughts arise to the person within the waking or dream. The thinker is the form. Without the form, thinking is an impossibility. Thus, thinker and thoughts are part of the known. The witness of the knower and known is formless. 

Thoughts and thinker are nothing to do with the formless witness. The witness is that witnesses the thoughts, thinker and the world together and remains always in the within the waking or dream as their formless substance.

People think that more they think, the more they will get; but it is really an error. It remains only a thought and gives them back only thoughts.  Anything seen, observed, cannot be the Self or the Witness. 

Thoughtless awareness comes only when there is oneness in awareness in the midst of dualistic illusion. The dualistic illusion exists as a reality until the ignorance is there. Ignorance will vanish only when the non-dualistic or Advaitic wisdom dawns. 
The wisdom dawns only when one becomes aware of the fact that the world in which you exist is a dualistic illusion created out of single stuff that is the consciousness.   Thus, realizing consciousness alone is and all the three states are merely an illusion created out of consciousness leads to non-dual Self-awareness.  
Buddhist Sunyavada is incongruous because every thought has its opposite every word is tied to its coordinate for all thought and speech can only operate under such dualism. Hence, taking the most fundamental word, existence is implied opposite non-existence is also there, and vice versa. Therefore, the Sunya "non-entity" is meaningless without "entity". Both are there.

Buddhist Idealism speaks only of ideas.

What about the knower of these ideas?

Buddhist Nihilism does not ask "What is meant by Nihilism?

It is a thought. There must be a thinker of this thought.

When you say "Nothing is" what is the meaning of "is"? "Sunya" is something which exists: you cannot prove that consciousness does not exist.

Zen is quite OK in mentioning non-duality: it is the nearest to Advaita, but it is still inferior because:

(1) It fails to prove non-duality

(2) It illogically gives ‘Koan’ exercises as a means of attaining that which is beyond attainment, because always here

(3) It talks of insight or intuition to see Reality when sight involves a second thing, duality.

When you say "Nothing is" what is the meaning of "is"? "Sunya" is something which exists: you cannot prove that consciousness does not exist.
Zen Buddhism gives a highly important place for meditation practice. The truth is that Zen advocates the necessity of meditation for those of its adherents who cannot grasp the absolute truth.
Zen Buddhism is also on this lower stage of Yoga because it depends on flashes of Intuition gained by meditation, not by reasoning.
Has the Void a meaning? If so then it is only your imagination.
Bhagavan Buddha gave up yoga after practicing it for six years. He saw it could not yield truth.
Bhagavan Buddha gave up his austerities of yoga as impossible and useless. (Page.70/71 "Buddhism in Translation” by Warren)
Bhagavan Buddha got enlightenment only after he gave up Yoga. Unless you exercise your Buddhi--reason--there is no chance of getting the truth, which is beyond the form, time, and space. Buddhism is based on the form alone, and it does not include the time and space in its investigation.
Buddhism has not proved the truth of Nonduality. Bhagavan Buddha pointed out the unreality of the world. He told people they were foolish to cling to it. But he stopped there. He came nearest to Advaita in speech but not to Advaita fully.
Zen Buddhism Satori is not Advaitic wisdom because it comes as flashes, it does not depend on seeing the world and does not depend upon mental sharpness so much as intuition.
Zen Buddhists are only mystics ~ they do not offer proof. How is their main method different from that of Christian mystics, Hindu mystics, all of whom do not seek to prove by reason, but by "I know," intuition? : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

There is no need to take sanyasa and renounce worldly life in order to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.+


Panchadasi says: ~ "If a person cannot undertake the study into the nature of Brahman, either through a dull intellect or through want of accessories for such inquiry, he must be constantly engaged in the meditation on Brahman." The term accessories here mean "the person who knows Brahman, i.e. Gnani.

Panchadasi says: ~ "The Yogi who moves unseeing through this world is not better than a lump of clay in human form; it is not imperceptions of the world that is needed but the intellectual realization that its substratum is an idea.

The mind is virtually the universe. The universe appears as waking or dream (duality) and disappears deep sleep (nonduality). Efforts should be made to understand the mind. Advaitic is wisdom is ancient truth preserved as a secret by sages of truth.

Every minute the waking experience is changing. The waking experience becomes deep sleep and deep sleep becomes the dream. Thus, their continuous change is going on and on in consciousness.

The one that appears as waking, the one that appears as a dream and one that becomes the deep sleep is the Soul, which is present in the form of the consciousness. Thus,, all three states are created out of single stuff and that stuff is consciousness.

Thus, one which becomes duality (waking or dream) and the one which becomes nonduality (deep sleep) is the same consciousness. Thus, the consciousness alone is real and all the three states are merely an illusion.

Remember:~

There is no need to take sanyasa and renounce worldly life in order to acquire Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. All the Guru propagated knowledge is not Atma Gnana. All guru propagated knowledge is meant for the ignorant populace. If you are stuck up with the religion and yoga you are unfit to tread the Atmic path.

If you are seeking the truth of your true existence then you must set yourself free of religious background and cultures, of all accumulated should be discarded.

The seeker has to have the courage to accept the truth and reject the untruth because most people will not be able to subscribe to the path of truth, because, they are sentimentally and emotionally involved with their inherited belief system, and even if one does he has to overcome all his doubts, confusion, and despair. These are problems for the seekers who are from a religious background because of their conditioning and they are made to accept their blind belief as truth and their interest or insight is not deep. Thus, all my blogs are useful in analyzing these problems because they highlight what is not the truth according to their own religious scriptures and make them accept the truth and reject all the false conditioning and move ahead in the pursuit of truth.

Remember:~

Religious and yogic paths are not the Gnanic path or the Atmic path. Never mix religious and yogic ideas in the Atmic path.

Guru, the disciple concept is meant for the religious and yogic path. In the Atmic path, the Guru and disciple concept have no value.

A person who realized the ultimate truth or Brahman will throw off his religious robe and all religious identity and lives like a commoner. He never identifies himself as Gnani nor does he identify himself superior to others. He only shares his knowledge with fellow seekers.

A Gnani never identifies himself as a Guru or a Yogi or someone disciple. The one who accepts himself as a Guru or someone’s disciple is not a Gnani.

Sage Sankara says:~ VC-162- There is no liberation for a person of mere book-knowledge, howsoever well-read in the philosophy of Vedanta, so long as one does not give up the false identification with the body, sense organs, etc., which are unreal.

Gurus, yogis identify themselves with their body and sense-organs which are illusory.
Guru and disciple and the world in which Guru and disciple exist are created out single stuff. That single stuff is consciousness. Consciousness is the ultimate truth of Brahman or God in truth.
By identifying as a Guru or some Guru’s disciple keeps one in the cage of the ignorance. A person who identifies himself as a Guru or disciple will never be able to get Advaitic Gnana.

Ashtavakra Samhita: ~ "The man of knowledge (Gnani), though living like an ordinary man, is contrary to him and only those like him understand his state.

A Gnani can point at the sky, but the seeing of the star is the seeker's own work.

Remember:~

The truth-seeker seeks only truth. The inner Sage will guide you with love. Your sincerity and seriousness lead you to your inner core. Sincere and serious seekers are not excluded..

All the chosen ones will get freedom from experiencing the illusion (duality) as a reality. All the seekers of truth are chosen ones. 

Katha Upanishads: ~ This Atman is attained by him alone whom It chooses. To such a one Atman reveals Its own form. (II -23-P-20)

Sage Sankara: ~ "Though I wear these robes of a Sanyasin, it is only for the sake of bread." (Select Works of Sage Sankara" also his commentary on Brihad)

Thus, the above passage proves that all those who were the sanyasin robes are wearing it for the sake of bread belongs to the religion; they are nothing to do with the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana. There is no need to criticize and condemn the Gurus, yogis, and swamis because they are needed for the welfare of ignorant mass in the dualistic world.

Sage Sankara says the transparent Truth of the Self, which is hidden by the illusion, is to be attained through the instructions of a knower of Brahman, (Gnani).
~ Then why you are sticking a Guru who is not a Gnani.
That is why Swami Vivekananda said: ~ “You have to grow from the inside out. None can teach you, none can make you spiritual. There is no other teacher, but your own Soul.”
Yogis and Gurus are not Gods.
This idea of worshiping Guru as God is not a Vedic idea but adopted from Jainism and Buddhism.
Vedas bars human worship: ~
"They are enveloped in darkness, in other words, are steeped in ignorance and sunk in the greatest depths of misery who worship the uncreated, eternal prakrti -- the material cause of the world -- in place of the All-pervading God, But those who worship visible things born of the prakrti, such as the earth, trees, bodies (human and the like) in place of God are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.":~ (Yajur Veda 40:9.)
Then why worship and glorify the Gurus and Yogis (human form) in place of God when Veda bars such activities and it also warns people who indulge in such activities are enveloped in still greater darkness, in other words, they are extremely foolish, fall into an awful hell of pain and sorrow, and suffer terribly for a long time.
No one has ever seen God by practicing religion or yoga or indulging in glorifying the religious God and Goddesses because God exists prior to the form, time, and space. The form, time, and space cease to exist as a reality when wisdom dawns. Thus, the Gods and Gurus have no place in the domain of the Advaitic reality. Advaita is the nature of the Soul, which is the real God. Thus, Self-realization is the only way to God-realization.

By worshipping the religious Gods and Gurus one will not get Self-realization or God-realization. The Soul, the inner Guru reveals ‘what is real’ and ‘what is unreal” when the seeker is receptive and ready. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

When the seeker goes to find his own answers independently then he will be able to realize the truth hidden by the 'I'.
Religion and yoga do not satisfy the urge of the serious seeker for absolute truth.
Religion is in the grip of superstitions, dogmas, caste-system, and corruption. Gurudom is commercialized and the real purpose of the pursuit of truth has vanished.
The religion, mysticism, and yoga, high jacked by the Gurudom and the Advaitic wisdom got lost.
All the gurus of the east and west introduced their own theories and teaching and started playing with the sentiments and emotions of the innocent seekers for the sake of acquiring wealth.
Every human being will have a certain level of intellect enough to grasp the truth hidden by ignorance but the egocentric knowledge has made them non-thinkers. Advaitic truth is simple and anyone reading it with keen interest will be able to understand it to the core.
When the seeker realizes the Self is not ‘I’ but the ‘Self is hidden by the ‘I’ then whatever is based on the ‘I’ is bound to be an illusion. That is the world in which you exist itself is an illusion.
The world in which you exist is based on the ‘I’. The Advaitic wisdom frees the Soul, the 'Self' from the bondage of the ‘I’. Without ignorance, the Soul alone shines as the ultimate reality or Brahman or God.

Yoga Vasistha says: ~ Self-knowledge or knowledge of truth is not had by resorting to a Guru (preceptor) nor by the study of scripture, nor by good works: it is attained only by means of inquiry inspired by the company of wise (Gnani). One’s inner light alone is the means, naught else. When this inner light is kept alive, it is not affected by the darkness of inertia. 
There is no need to condemn Gurus, but there is a need to highlight how they become an obstacle in realizing the ultimate truth or Brahman.
The Guru is useless so long as the ultimate truth is unknown, and Guru is equally useless when the ultimate truth or Brahman has already been known. A Guru is needed for the religious and the yogic path.  There is no need for a Guru to realize  Brahman or God in truth. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar

Sage Sankara cautioned that study of Upanishad alone would not lead to moksha.+


Sages of truth restrained themselves parting the Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana to the mass and only a selected few.

Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was hidden from the people who were not qualified and receptive to it. Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana was not written down but was imparted orally to the chosen few. Thus, religion was given to the ignorant populace and the knowledge of the Spirit, God is given only a selected few.

Bhagavad Gita says: ~ Among thousands of men, scarcely one strives for perfection; and of those who strive and succeed, scarcely one knows the ‘Self’ in truth.

The path of wisdom attracts only those who are in search of truth and they appreciate it greatly.   The ignorant are not spiritually matured they receive Self-knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana.  The ignorant indulge in argument and provocation and personal attack, which hinders their own realization of the ultimate truth or Brahman. 

Sage Sankara cautioned that the study of Upanishad alone would not lead to moksha. In matters of such as spiritual attainment, one’s own realization was the sole authority and it cannot be disputed

Sage Sankara also said the study of Upanishad was neither indispensable nor a necessary prerequisite for attaining the human goal, the moksha.

Sage Sankara pointed out; even those who were outside the Upanishad fold were as eligible to moksha as those within the fold were. He declared that all beings are Brahman, and, therefore, the question of discrimination did not arise. All that one was required to do was to get rid of ignorance (Avidya or duality).

The seeker's aim is the search for the Ultimate Truth or Brahman.  The search to find the non-dualistic or Advaitic truth that in actuality never was lost, only hidden.

Upanishad aspiration is best expressed in the following sutra:~

OM Asato ma sad gaMaya , tamaso ma jyotir gaMaya , mrityor ma aamritaam gaMaya . Shanti, Shanti, Shanti

"OM Lead me from ignorance to truth, from darkness to light, from death to immortality. Peace, Peace, Peace" (Brhadaranyaka Upanishad (1/3/28).

Upanishads are based on the insights of the sages and seers, serve primarily as a guidebook. One has to accept the Ultimate reality as Brahman or God.

The Sruti itself’ says:~  "This Atma is NOT to be attained by a study of the Vedas.  (Katha Upanishad I, 2, 23.)     

Sage Sankara says: ~

Aparoksh Anubhuti: ~

A. A 5~ Atman (the seer) in itself is alone permanent, the seen is opposed to it (ie., transient) – such a settled conviction is truly known as discrimination.

A.A 19. Atman is all consciousness and holy, the body is all flesh and impure; and yet, etc.,

A.A 45. There exists no other material cause of this phenomenal universe except Brahman. Hence, this whole universe is but Brahman and nothing else.

A.A 46. From such declaration (of the Shruti) as “All this is Atman”, it follows that the idea of the pervaded and the pervading is illusory. This supreme truth is being realized, where is the room for any distinction between the cause and the effect?

A.A 47. Certainly, the Shruti has directly denied manifoldness in Brahman. The non-dual cause being an established fact, how could the phenomenal universe be different from It?

A.A 48. Moreover, the Shruti has condemned (the belief in variety) in the words, “The person who”, being deceived by Maya, “sees variety in this (Brahman), goes from death to death”.
A.A 49. Since all beings are born of Brahman, the supreme Atman, they must be understood to be verily Brahman.

A.A 50. The Shruti has clearly declared that Brahman alone is the substratum of all varieties of names, forms, and actions.

A.A 51. Just as a thing made of gold ever has the nature of gold, so also a being born of Brahman has always the nature of Brahman.

A.A 53. When duality appears through ignorance, one sees another; but when everything becomes identified with the Atman, one does not perceive another even in the least.

A.A 54. In that state when one realizes all as identified with the Atman, there arises neither delusion nor sorrow, in consequence of the absence of duality.

A.A 55. The Shruti in the form of the Brihadaranyaka has declared that this Atman, which is the Self of all, is verily Brahman.

A.A 56. This world, though an object of our daily experience and serving all practical purposes, is, like the dream world, of the nature of non-existence, since it is contradicted the next moment.

A.A 57. The dream (experience) is unreal in waking, whereas the waking (experience) is absent in the dream. Both, however, are non-existent in deep sleep which, again, is not experienced in either.

A.A 58. Thus, all the three states are unreal since they are the creation of the three Gunas; but their witness (the reality behind them) is, beyond all Gunas, eternal, one, and is Consciousness itself.

A.A 59. Just as (after the illusion has gone) one is no more deluded to see a jar in earth or silver in the nacre, so does one no more see Jiva in Brahman when the latter is realized (as one’s own Self).

A.A 68. Atman, though ever pure (to a wise man), always appears to be impure (to an ignorant one), just as a rope always appears in two different ways to a knowing person and an ignorant one.

A.A. 87. Thus, through ignorance arises in Atman the delusion of the body, which, again, through Self-realization, disappears in the supreme Atman.

A.A. 88. When the whole universe, movable and immovable, is known to be Atman, and thus the existence of everything else is negated, where is then any room to say that the body is Atman?

A.A 96. The real nature of the rope being known, the appearance of the snake no longer persists; so the substratum being known, the phenomenal world disappears completely.

A.A 98. “And all the actions of a man perish when he realizes that (Atman) which is both the higher and the lower”. Here the clear use of the plural by the Shruti is to negate Prarabdha as well.

A.A 99. If the ignorant still arbitrarily maintain this, they will not only involve themselves in two absurdities but will also run the risk of forgoing the Vedantic conclusion. So one should accept those Shrutis alone from which proceeds true knowledge.

Even as particles of sand floating in water settle down when the water is absolutely steady, A person who has gained the  Self –knowledge or Brahma Gnana or Atma Gnana of truth rests in the consciousness.

Sage Sankara: ~ VC In the dream state, even though there is no contact with the outside world, the Soul alone projects the entire dream universe of enjoyer, enjoyment, etc. Similarly, the waking state is no different. All this world of pluralistic phenomena is illusory projection.
The Upanishad has spoken of the sleep state at lengthThis has several purposes. 

   1. To reiterate that the objective world does not have a permanent reality

   2. To demonstrate that the subject alone remains as the non-dual reality in the sleep state and therefore in all the states.

   3. To prove that the sleep state, being non-dual, gives the greatest bliss to the subject consciousness.

   4. To prove to the subject-enquirer that bliss is obtained not from objects but on the contrary, in the absence of objects.

   5. To prove that duality is samsara, misery and non-duality are liberations, bliss.

   6. To give to the Sadhaka a? Preview? a foretaste,  of the liberated state.

 Brihadaranyaka Upanishad 4.3.22~ alludes to this experience: ~ (In this state a father is no father, a mother no mother, Gods,  no Gods, the Vedas, no Vedas.  In this state, a thief is no thief, the killer of a noble Brahmana no killer, a monk no monk, a hermit no hermit. This form of his is untouched by good work and untouched by evil work, for he is then beyond all the woes of his intellect.

Sage Sankara: ~ 'Like a servant who carries a lamp in front of you to find your way, and you have found it, so becomes the Veda to that person. What is the Veda? ~ utterances of those who have known the Truth. Here is one who has known the Truth; why should he or she depend upon the Veda further? Actual realization takes you beyond books. At a certain stage, books become a botheration. The Upanishad itself says that the 'words are only so much of distraction for such minds'
Upanishad itself says: ~ vacho viglapanam hi tat~ words are only so much of distraction for such minds'.
Someone posing as a Gnani is not a Gnani. If someone poses himself as a direct disciple of some Guru is not a Gnani. Those who pose themselves as Gnanis are not Gnanis. A Gnani never poses himself as a Guru, a swami, a sadhu or a yogi, or some Guru’s disciple. : ~ Santthosh Kumaar
